Winner over a furlong shorter at this course last July and has run some eye-catching races since. Is gradually going own in the weights and now looks on a winnable mark, but he does have to prove himself on fast ground, if the forecasts are correct.
Won her first two races and subsequently ran in Group company, but has regressed badly since, even dropping to a selling race last time out. On all form for her current trainer she looks too high in the handicap to seriously challenge here.
Has shown definite signs that he retains some of his ability even in his advancing years, including with a convincing C&D win in October. That was off 5lb lower but he is ground versatile and breaks from an ideal stall here and so has claims that cannot be ignored.
Went close on a number of occasions last summer, winning one of those and as a result has shot up in the handicap. Didn't fare well when stepped up to a mile for three consecutive races and could do much better now back in sprints.
Interesting to see him dropped down to this trip for the first time for this yard, with first-time cheek pieces applied. Form hasn't been the best of late though and he looks handicapped to his best in this competitive heat.
Won a weak maiden at Hamilton in August on today's trip/ground and has run two poor races in handicap company since. Looks like she will need a little bit more give from the handicapper before making her mark in a race such as this.
Finished a fine second at Thirsk at big odds last time out. Ended up in the right place at the right time there which might not happen here given his draw but he looked like a horse who could win a race of this nature that day, especially off an unchanged mark.
11-race maiden who showed little on four starts last year and makes his season return today. Now on his lowest handicap mark of his career but entitled to need this even if able to make an impression off this sort of weight.
Not hugely impressive on her return to turf at Thirsk last time out (6f, good to firm), but had been in good form on the all-weather prior to that. Sole win came on that surface and it's possible she simply prefers it, and it's also concerning that she breaks from the widest draw of all here.
Veteran C&D winner but no win since July 2015 and he looks exposed and past his best. Vulnerable to younger, more improving types in this field.
Has had plenty of racing, not to mention three trainers, in the space of the past year but has failed to make an impression since leaving Gordon Elliott's. Returns to turf after a spell on the all-weather but looks fully exposed.
Ran a fair race on return at Thirsk last month give he hadn't had a race in almost two years (and even longer on the Flat). More would be needed now and perhaps a little harsh that he's raised 1lb, but not out of it on that evidence.
No win since December 2014, and even that came in a Class 7 handicap at Wolverhampton. Seems to lack the basic ability to win a race of this nature and cannot be recommended, especially from a high draw.
Has gone 18 races without even placing and does not look capable of winning a race as competitive as this; easily discounted.
Just the one career win and that came when she was still trained in France. Has looked fully exposed up until now but interesting to see how first-time blinkers could have an effect.

With so many runners and no clear horse to beat, this is a very open looking contest. Our Place In Louis out-ran big odds at Thirsk last time and shaped as if he is the sort of horse who could win a big-field handicap such as this, while Goninodaethat won over C&D in October and has been running well elsewhere of late. They could both be thereabouts, but preference is for POOR DUKE. He enjoyed a fruitful summer last year with some fine efforts, and has been running over a mile recently despite sprint distances looking to be his optimum. He returns to 6f today and could exploit that step down in trip to land the spoils.
