Smart winner at Epsom when making most of the running in September but struggled to back that up in a Listed contest at Deauville. Market can reveal expectations after a break but the booking of this jockey is a promising sign.
Just one win from 10 starts and clearly not a straightforward type (can race keen and sometimes hangs) but he has ability, as seen when he finished third of eight over C&D in a Group 2 contest. Not on a bad mark if he can put it all together.
One win from 10 starts, coming at Lingfield in a 6f maiden but not beaten far over the mile at Musselburgh. 2lb rise for that probably a little lenient and far from fully exposed. Should go well.
Raven's Pass colt, cost 200,000 gns as a yearling. Made all to win comfortably at Lingfield last time after a promising Newbury maiden. Showed an impressive turn of foot in that contest and he could come on for that effort so opening mark could prove a little lenient.
Third behind Rivet in a York maiden last August but benefited from the change of tactics when winning over 7f here in September. Faded in a Group 3 on return to action at Newbury last month but may come on for that and handicapper has put him on a fair mark. Interesting runner.
Beat a subsequent winner with something to spare on debut at Kempton and took advantage of a nice looking mark at Chelmsford last time despite over-racing in the early stages. Lots to like about that effort and runner-up has come out and franked the form; with the yard going well, he should run another big race.
Smart winner of a Yarmouth maiden, confirming the promise of his debut at Newbury. Runner-up from the Yarmouth race has won twice since so nothing wrong with that form and while he proved a little disappointing upped in class when favourite for a Salisbury contest last time, there's sure to be more to come this year. Market can reveal expectations.
Winner of a maiden here in August but form didn't work out and he was poor in a follow up bid at Sandown last time. Has blown the start on both his outings to date and won't get away with that in a race of this quality. Handicap mark looks high and others preferred.
Moderate win a Class 4 contest at Pontefract last season but very disappointing on the AW in two starts since. Needs more in this company and others surely better handicapped but does get the services of a top jockey at least.
Highly promising start to his career having won a Redcar maiden before following up at Doncaster. Looked a little unlucky on final start as a two-year-old when attempting his hat-trick bid but that looked like an above average contest for the grade and he looks well-handicapped as a result. More to come this season and market support would be encouraging.
Forecasts
Son Of The Stars (5/2), Eagle Creek (11/4), Andok (9/2), Via Serendipity (15/2), Grey Britain (10/1), Ronald R (14/1), Medieval (16/1), Seniority (20/1), Sea Fox (22/1), High Acclaim (33/1)
ANDOK was a smart two-year-old and there's every chance he can go on improving as a three-year-old. With the form of his final start having been franked by the winner, he looks the one to beat here. Son Of The Stars took advantage of a lenient mark last time and there could still be a little more to come despite a rise in weights. Eagle Creek is completely unexposed and the handicapper has given him a chance with a fair looking mark.
- Andok
- Son Of The Stars
