Wasn't beaten too far from 5lb higher last season and his recent Wolverhampton run from 2lb higher was also no disgrace. Dropped in grade for this and returned to a trip that ought to suit, he looks likely to be competitive.
Started from a workable mark of 61 in handicaps at Newcastle a couple of months ago and went well when runner-up first time over 7f. Not beaten too far in a maiden auction at Southwell last time. Return to this trip should not be an issue and has each-way claims.
Not really fired in five outings so far, the last two in handicaps. Gelded since latest run around six weeks ago and will be interesting to see if he can show signs of improvement for that straight away.
Already had three handicap outings and getting closer to winning as his mark reduces, though not yet seriously threatened. Back up 2lb for making the frame at Nottingham last time in slightly better race than this and cheek pieces now applied. Claims, although wouldn't want to be taking too short a price.
0-10 and has twice run well from marks in the 60s in handicap company. Last on his reappearance run from 2lb higher, though that was over an inadequate-looking 5f. Should strip fitter for that and is very interesting on his first try over this far.
Gelded prior to his return at Ripon a couple of weeks ago and well beaten on that occasion, though did go well for a long way. Begins handicapping from what looks a very fair mark and should be capable of making an impact this time.
Another who has failed to reveal his hand in maidens, but who now begins handicapping from a workable mark. Step up in trip likely to suit him and forecast conditions also probably in his favour, so check the market for clues.
Decent effort from 2lb lower in a Kempton handicap over this trip last month and perhaps the drop to 7f was not ideal for her last time, when she still ran respectably. Back over this distance she should be capable of being competitive again.
Unable to make an impact in either maidens or handicaps so far and gelded since last seen in November. 4lb lower for this and would be very interesting if fully wound up with first-time blinkers a possible positive, so a market check is advised.
Well held on handicap debut at Newcastle when last seen in August and may need this after a lengthy break. Dropped 2lb for this return run and stepped up in trip, though probably best watched this time.
Not a bad reappearance here over 6f last month, when unable to go with them in the closing stages. Extra 2f will help here in that respect, while a 1lb drop won't do any harm and she is another from this yard for whom a market check would be prudent.
Has dropped 8lb for three handicap runs and tries 1m for the first time here. More needed on the evidence of her efforts so far.
Stayed on well to finish runner-up from today's mark on her Newcastle handicap debut a couple of starts ago. Slowly away last time, so can probably put a line through that run and she is interesting now stepped up in trip. Could go well at a price.
Raced keenly when making the frame over 7f at Newcastle in March from 2lb higher. Drop to 6f didn't appear to help next time and also well beaten over similar distance to this last time. Bit to prove at present.
Failed to have a say in any start last season, with the exception of his Newcastle run in October. 5lb lower today and not knocked about when beaten on reappearance at Catterick. Interesting now upped to 1m and a much better effort would not surprise.
Has thus far failed to make an impact in maidens or on his handicap debut over 6f here in September, when sporting a visor. That now dispensed with in favour of tongue strap for this reappearance. Looks to have plenty to find.
Forecasts
Baker Street (9/2), Rita's Man (6/1), American Craftsman (7/1), Fairy Lock (10/1), Cosmic Sky (10/1), State Residence (10/1), Stretewise (11/1), Kazanan (12/1), A Bit Of Ginger (12/1), Champion Harbour (14/1), Hugging The Rails (20/1), Pontecarlo Boy (20/1), Flying Onsite (20/1), Albizu Campos (25/1), Parkwarden (66/1), Where's Stewart (80/1)
Another tricky race to solve and American Craftsman should go well after a decent reappearance effort at Ripon last time, while Kazanan and Cosmic Sky are others with claims. Baker Street and Rita's Man look capable of getting involved at the business end, though preference is for CHAMPION HARBOUR, who steps up to a much more suitable trip than last time and may finally be able to break his duck.
- Champion Harbour
- Baker Street
- American Craftsman
