Confirmed the promise of his York debut last year when an easy winner on his return in a C&D maiden. The handicapper has had his say, but he is a horse of some potential and is much respected.
Won an AW maiden at Chelmsford last summer before slightly disappointing in a nursery at the same course in October. Looks to have his share of weight in quite a hot contest.
Has won both his AW starts, a 5f maiden at this track on debut and 6f handicap at Kempton. Goes up another furlong, but that should not be an issue and he looks a major player.
Took 10 attempts to get off the mark, but did so last time and has been consistent since being gelded. Effective on AW surfaces, but is more exposed than most and looks high enough in the handicap.
Progressive as a juvenile, after being gelded, and ran respectably when fifth of nine at Pontefract on his reappearance. In good hands and likely to have come on for that outing.
Justified favouritism when an easy winner of a 6f Kempton maiden in November. Impossible to know how good she is, but the market support for her on debut suggests she is highly regarded and she may have got in lightly on her first venture into handicap company.
Won a Windsor maiden before finishing down the field in a valuable sales race at York last season. Gelded during the winter and may find one or two rivals more leniently handicapped.
Fair juvenile, who shaped well on his reappearance when runner-up at Kempton. He took a keen hold that day and, with the freshness out of him, should be more tractable. Has each-way claims.
Impressed when winning a C&D maiden in December. May have to improve to get the better of more talented opposition, but cannot be ruled out.
Gelded during the winter, he made a successful return when winning a C&D maiden in March. He does not look harshly treated, but this is a much stiffer task.
Forecasts
Horroob (9/4), Endless Charm (4/1), Tafaakhor (11/2), Battered (7/1), Sea Shack (8/1), Family Fortunes (9/1), Maakaasib (10/1), Hajjam (20/1), Angel Down (33/1), Sayem (33/1)
An intriguing handicap which features some contenders who could rate much higher than their current marks in due course. The three who make most appeal are top weight Horroob , Family Fortunes, and ENDLESS CHARM, with the vote going to the latter, who really impressed with the style of her win on debut and could be seriously well treated.
- Endless Charm
- Horroob
- Family Fortunes
