Met trouble in running when sixth of eleven over this trip at Kempton last month, and taken out of a planned engagement here last week. Has two wins to her name so far, with the most recent coming on good-to-firm ground at Yarmouth over 6f (off a 3lb lower mark) in June last year.
C&D winner in September 2016 (beat The Reel Way by 1¾L), and twice placed at this track on his only two subsequent starts on turf. Stayed on to finish third over 7F here last week, having finished 4L second to Tavener on the Lingfield Polytrack five days earlier.
Capable sort on his day (and a C&D winner in September 2015), but seemingly not at his best level of form during the month of March. Could do better now back on turf, but others are more convincing overall.
Did well for Ali Stronge during the course of 2016, including when winning over 7F at Sandown in July. Has been placed here in the past, but this trip is sharp enough, and out of form in two starts for this new yard (both on the AW) during 2017. First time visor applied.
Southwell regular, but hasn't managed to get his head in front since March 2015 (5/6f). An eight race maiden on turf, he's not raced on grass since July 2016, so others are preferred.
Finished third to Nasri at Kempton in a low grade AW handicap in March, and in truth had looked slightly better on turf prior to that effort. His last success came at Thirsk in April 2016 (beat 18 rivals), so early season switched back to turf might be the time to catch him right, but he's 2 from 45 overall, so hardly reliable.
Old timer who wasn't disgraced following a four month break at Catterick recently (goes well at that track). Has fallen in the weights considerably lately, and was beaten just 2L by the well handicapped Groundworker at Newcastle in November (when rated 58). Down to a mark of 44 on turf, it would be no surprise to see him pop up at decent odds with a 5lb claimer aboard.
28 race maiden who hasn't raced on turf since July 2016. Races from a fast declining mark, but top notch jockey will need to excel in the saddle to steer this gelding home in front.

Forecasts
Virile (15/8), Wedgewood Estates (6/1), Deer Song (7/1), Great Expectations (7/1), Blistering Dancer (8/1), Spowarticus (8/1), Cooperess (10/1), Sir Geoffrey (11/1), Louis Vee (12/1)
Another poor heat to conclude the Brighton action. First time back on turf could be the ideal moment to catch Blistering Dancer in his prime, as he demonstrated when dispatching a big field at Thirsk last April, whilst the veteran Sir Geoffrey is well handicapped and with Brighton not being totally dissimilar to Catterick, he could prove suited by the switchback nature of this track. However, we know that VIRILE goes well here, and comes into this race in far better form than most.
- Virile
- Blistering Dancer
- Sir Geoffrey
