Very consistent contender who has finished in the first three in all of his most recent eight runs on the Flat, usually not being beaten very far when failing to win. Gradually going up in the handicap as a result and is at an age where further improvement is unlikely, but he has proven he can win races of this nature.
First run on the all-weather since September 2015 but hasn't been disgraced in some AW races since, including when winning at Chelmsford in March. That was over a similar trip today and it would be no surprise for that to prove to be her optimum.
Only tame efforts recently and it feels like the handicapper may have fully caught up with him. Gradually going down in the handicap but not quickly enough to be of interest here.
Absent since last August (and that was in a hurdles race; even longer on the Flat), but was in good form prior to that absence. She was beaten at a short price on a couple of occasions, but she at least proved that she can be competitive in these sort of contests.
Consistent type who steps up in trip here having run well in similar-level events over shorter. Interesting to see him stepped up in trip now given some of his better efforts have been over 1m2f, but he will be a big player provided he stays.
C&D winner who returned to winning ways in January with a victory at Wolverhampton. Looks to be recapturing some of his better form now and could potentially prove well handicapped if that's the case.
Only two career wins came within a week of each other at Hamilton in September 2014. They were both over shorter than this, too, and he hasn't shown enough over staying trips to encourage enthusiasm for him today.

Many of these have been trying to win races over staying trips with varying levels of success, but it may pay to side with the relative inexperience of ON FIRE. If staying the extra couple of furlongs then this four-year-old can use what looks to be a workable handicap mark to continue his recent good run of form, having not finished out of the first three in a race for almost a year. Rowlestone Lass, who has already shown a liking for this trip, is feared most, ahead of the veteran Hallstatt.
