Dandy Man colt was readily fended off when finishing last of a dozen on debut at Kempton on the AW over this trip earlier in the month. There may be better to come in time but doesn't appeal for this turf bow.

Just the one run as a 2yo, finishing tailed off over a trip just shorter than this at Brighton in August. Broke slowly and never got on the pace in that contest and needs to have strengthened up significantly over the winter to figure in this.

Dam was a Group 1 winner in Italy so clearly well-related but flopped on sole 2yo start and again unable to land a telling blow on recent reappearance at Newmarket over 7f. Drops in trip which should suit.

Dutch Art colt was fancied for a 7f Ascot maiden in the autumn but back out of things quickly at 2f pole. Wouldn't be any great surprise should he be capable of leaving that form behind this season, drops in trip for reappearance.
A luckless second in a 6f Dundalk maiden on the AW in November, was denied in agonising fashion on reappearance at Musselburgh over 7f two weeks ago. Surely must make the breakthrough sooner rather than later.

Not disgraced in third in a 7f maiden at this track in September on second start, returns to action down in trip now and entitled to be right in the mix.

A filly out of Sepoy, her trainer had one ready to go on first run of the season at Yarmouth during the week and the money was down. Worth a check in the market for debut here.

A filly out of Kodiac, she's booked for her racecourse bow here though her small yard have been a bit quiet of late.

Forecasts

Sharp Defence (4/5), Jumira Prince (4/1), See The Master (5/1), Eula Varner (5/1), Primadonia (15/2), Love Not War (12/1), Pride Of Angels (12/1), Vixen (40/1), Charlie Alpha (100/1), General Gerrard (100/1)

Verdict

See The Master should be capable of a good deal better than he showed at Ascot on his only outing last season and any money would be encouraging while it will also be noted how the market judges Primadonia on her first start for this yard, given she was well supported but flopped on her only outing for the Hannon team. SHARP DEFENCE has hit the crossbar on two occasions already, most recently at Musselburgh over 7f this month. He can atone for that by opening his account now. Love Not War is one of the newcomer with potential to have a say.
  1. Sharp Defence
  2. Primadonia
  3. See The Master
