Well beaten in three maiden outing's at up to 1m and only minor promise when finishing ninth over this C&D last week. Races off a 3lb lower mark today but more likely needed in this.

Shaped as if a step up in trip would suit when third of 11 at Gowran Park (good) on debut last August. Disappointed twice since including over an extended 1m2f at Dundalk last week. Quicker surface expected here likely to suit and interesting in first time blinkers on handicap debut.

Beaten in all five starts to date including when well beaten in a 1m2f handicap at Leopardstown (good-to-yielding) last time out. Wore first time blinkers when 3L fourth over 7f the time before and probably best watched with cheekpieces reapplied here.

Had a few of his rivals today behind him when beaten a head over an extended 1m3f here on good ground last weekend. That marked a career best effort having been well beaten behind Steelyeyed the time before and an interesting runner here.

Beaten ½L behind Steelyeyed at Leopardsotwn (good-to-yielding) when racing over 1m2f for the first time earlier this month. Yard have a 19% strike-rate at present (11/57) and likely to run well once more in this contest.

Well beaten in three AW maiden events at Dundalk including in first time blinkers. Worth a check in the market for shrewd connections on his handicap and turf debut.

Beaten 2L over an extended 1m3f when finishing sixth over C&D last week. Races off the same mark today and of interest if repeating that effort with cheekpieces applied for the first time.

Maiden after 13 career outings and had a number of today's rivals in front of him when finishing seventh over C&D last week. Better ground on that occasion appeared to suit and may surprise a few in this contest.

Verdict

It looks likely to pay to side with horses drawn low in this contest with the return to a sounder surface likely to suit COSIMO MEDICI and he can make a winning handicap debut from stall four in this contest. The selection finished third on good ground at Gowran Park prior to disappointing at the same venue on soft three weeks later. Joseph Murphy's charge was keen enough when making his seasonal debut at Dundalk last week but should strip fitter for that outing and he can get the better of Epitaph who finished a head runner-up here last week with Hyperdrive for the in form Jessica Harrington taken to prove best of those drawn high in what looks an open three-year-old handicap.
  1. Cosimo Medici
  2. Epitaph
  3. Hyperdrive
