Finished a tame 13th on racecourse debut at Windsor last June (1m2f, soft). Off since and will need to show something else here, but interesting that top connections persist with him.

Not disgraced on debut here over 7f but couldn't follow up over the same C&D next time. More needed now returning over further for the first time since.

Good pedigree but there are multiple concerns, first that he waits until to make his first racecourse appearance, and most of all that he was bought for only £600 in August. Best watched on debut.
Not the most exciting pedigree but cost 300,000gns at the sales as a two-year-old and is worth a check in the market as he makes his first racecourse appearance from a helpful draw.

Well-bred newcomer who goes for both a trainer and ownership operation enjoying a great start to the season. Trip shouldn't be an issue on debut and is entitled to go well.

Steps up in trip having shown little on his first two racecourse appearances. The extra 1½f is unlikely to make the difference for him and he is best watched here.

Made a promising debut for a top trainer when finishing second at Newmarket in October. Up in trip now and rates as a leading contender if able to come on for that first run.

Cost €275,000 as a two-year-old, and cannot be underestimated as a son of Galileo. Interesting that he wears a hood on debut and is worth a check in the market.

Forecasts

Manchego (4/6), Dayking (9/4), Armandihan (9/2), Falak (6/1), Twenty Times (8/1), Colourful Career (12/1), Sir Gnet (18/1), Life Of Luxury (40/1), Nazzaa (50/1), Mahna Mahna (66/1), Tamarin (100/1)

Verdict

There are a few previously-raced contenders here who could improve to take this but a chance is taken on DAYKING. This well-bred son of Dubawi makes his debut for connections who are enjoying a great start to the turf season but are also unafraid to try a good one on the all-weather, and he should run a big race on his first appearance. He is the selection ahead of Manchego, who made a most promising debut for Hugo Palmer at Newmarket and should go close if building on that, and Armandihan , who was only narrowly beaten at Redcar last time out.
  1. Dayking
  2. Manchego
  3. Armandihan
