Hard to weigh up, having just had the three runs in France and will face markedly different ground conditions here, but represents powerful connections and with trainer in a bid to win trainers championship, any ammo he fires today is to be respected.

Some good early season form has now rather been forgotten after a couple of middling efforts, finishing off weakly behind stable companion Master Blueyes at Kempton and then well down the field in the Fred Winter at Cheltenham. Needs to bounce back.

Consistent if nothing else this year, and opening mark of 136 now only 3lb lower. Duly made light work of an easy task at Chepstow last time and seems to have no worries on the likely ground based on his good second at Ascot previously. Chance is respected.

Ran below form at Aintree last time but better judged on his midfield effort in the Triumph hurdle when running on from the rear to be beaten 14l. Looks to be in need of a step up in trip already and would appreciate a good pace here. Needs to refind earlier form but should not be discounted.

Was no slouch on the Flat and has reproduced that ability over hurdles, winning his last two with a bit in hand, and there could be more to come on this stiffer track (won here on the Flat). Handicapper has stepped in after latest win but still unexposed and may yet improve further.

Looked good when winning at Uttoxeter in January and earlier form at Hereford isn't bad either, but seems to have a preference for slower ground and progression has come to a halt on last couple of starts. Needs to improve to hold a major chance.

Good second to the useful Domperignon Du Lys at Market Rasen on his debut for the yard but limitations exposed since then, and recent second at Hazamar at Ludlow, while not dreadful, needs improving on if he's to challenge the principals here.

Beat I See You Well at Ludlow last time out, and with handicapper taking that form literally, was raised a stone for it. Possibly best on tracks that test stamina less than today, and may need to settle better if he's to get home. Plenty on his plate, and needs more improvement.

Winner of his last two starts, both of them at Sandown, and defeat of Deauville Crystal last time reads well given that one won her next two starts. 4lb rise for that more than fair, but of more concern is the likely quick ground, as her best form so far has come on slower. Still respected.

Steady progression all season, and form when second to Gris De Pron at Hereford in March was given a boost when that one went in again at Market Rasen on Thursday. Showed a good attitude when successful at Kempton on latest start and despite a 6lb rise, not ruled out.

Useful for John Gosden on the Flat and rated in the 80's in that discipline, but not really set the world alight in three starts for current yard so far and although fairly handicapped on Flat exploits, yard are struggling badly for form and is passed over.

Hinted at ability early in the season when a well-beaten third behind Defi Du Seuil at Cheltenham and duly ran better on handicap debut at Towcester recently, the better ground seemingly helping his effort. No worries with track or ground, but suspicion is others are classier and may have his measure.

Forecasts

Call Me Lord (5/1), Dolos (11/2), Hollywood Road (6/1), Landin (8/1), Gregarious (8/1), Fixed Rate (9/1), Lambeau Field (10/1), Quids In (14/1), Fidux (16/1), I See You Well (16/1), Vincent's Forever (16/1), Hazamar (20/1)

Verdict

HOLLYWOOD ROAD comes here fresher than a few and may well have a bit more improvement up his sleeve. He looks to have been saved with this in mind, and can get the better of Fixed Rate, who looks to be going the right way and has shown some likeable battling qualities, and Landin, one to follow once getting a bit further but may find this track to his liking.
  1. Hollywood Road
  2. Fixed Rate
  3. Landin
