Improved on all three starts last year, finishing up beating a (slightly) more fancied stablemate at Chepstow on rain-softened ground (although officially good to firm). Given he'd shown a liking for heavy ground on debut, may find conditions here a bit on the quick side, but the type to improve again this year, so not totally discounted.

Highly tried in the Rockingham at York on his final start of last season, but a bit disappointing given he was only made a 5/1 chance for that, but nothing wrong with his reappearance second to Victory Angel at Newmarket and off the same mark and with no trip or ground concerns, should be in the mix.

Left previous form behind when winning a valuable sales race on his final start of last season at Ascot, the fast pace helping him come through late over 6f to score. This trip a minimum for him these days and there is no guarantee of the strong pace he needs, so is passed over on this occasion.

Ran well on introduction at Yarmouth in September, finishing a close second despite signs of greenness, and then duly made short work of landing the odds in a maiden there the month after. Will surely improve further this year and the type to make a good sprinter. Every chance if wound up for reappearance.

Possibly a bit unlucky not to score on his debut at Newcastle as he was continually hampered in the final furlong, but went down all guns blazing by a short head. Duly followed up the month after in a similar maiden and although that form isn't strong, gives impression of plenty of improvement to come.

More exposed than a few of these and doesn't really seem to be progressing as she should, and made no impression on his latest start at Nottingham, never being in the race. Step back up to 6f may help, but plenty to prove now.

Made favourite on all three of his starts last year, obliging on the second one when a good winner of a Chelmsford maiden. Bit disappointing when made favorite for a Southwell handicap but any horse can be forgiven a poor run on that surface, and yard do well here, so needs a market check at least.

Won at Redcar on his second start last year, showing good pace throughout and having enough in reserve to see off the second. Ran to a similar level on two subsequent starts and now needs a bit more improvement to cope in this class. Not out of it, but others preferred.

Not really going forward and has left Jeremy Noseda after his final start, a disappointing effort at Newcastle (weakened quickly). Can only be watched on first start for new yard after a small break.

Consistent if unspectacular last year, coming good at Pontefract in September and then running to a similar level in two starts after. Not a bad effort on reappearance at Nottingham but gives the impression the handicapper is in charge at present. More needed.

Only had the two starts, but showed that the experience of her debut at Newmarket when finishing fourth (form only moderate) wasn't wasted when landing a fillies maiden at Kempton on her other start. Should continue to improve but may need a little more here.

Verdict

It's hard not to see RICH AND FAMOUS running a solid race here as he's race fit, has his conditions and with not that much pace in the race, should be front rank throughout. Ekhtiyaar makes plenty of appeal as the type to do better this season and he and Dark Power make the most appeal of the rest. Sterling Silva would come into this if the rain came and got in the ground.
