Won over this trip at Sandown in July from a 3lb lower mark. Has been very consistent since, being just held on one occasion from today's rating, with his only poor run being last time over 1m2f. Ought to be very competitive back over this distance.
One win in each season he has raced so far, one of them over this trip at Haydock almost a year ago. That was from 6lb lower, but after being gelded he came back well last time to be beaten just 1½L at Newmarket from today's rating. Should go very well.
In cracking form at present, having won his last two races over 7f and then C&D. Raised 5lb for the latter and has an inside pitch here, so should again be in the mix.
Won and also dead-heated last season over this trip, though his abilities were exposed by the handicapper thereafter. Eased 2lb going into this, though wide draw not ideal and probably one to watch for today.
Scored a couple of times over 7f before the assessor caught up with him. Remained competitive at around this mark before the end of last season. Gelded since and returns after a winter break. Each-way claims.
Versatile performer over 7f-1m , winning over both trips including here over the former in December. 4lb here and just looks to have a few pounds too many at present.
Recorded a 7f hat-trick last summer and looks to have retained his ability on joining current yard from Brian Ellison. Beaten just a head over 7f at Southwell last time and gets another crack from the same mark today. Won his maiden over 1m, so trip no problem and should be right in the mix.
5lb higher than when recording the latest (and best) of her career wins and subsequent efforts suggest that she is again likely to be competitive but might find a couple of them finish in front.
Can be an in-and-out performer, but came good over C&D two starts ago from a 3lb lower mark. Well held from this rating of 74 last time and looks one of the less obvious winners today, although draw quite positive.
Has been in really good form since joining this stable, winning three of his six races for them. Two of those have been here, with one over C&D last month from 5lb lower. Has a similar draw here to when beaten 3L from this mark last time and looking like handicapper may now have his measure.
Specialist at this trip, with all seven career wins being over it. Powers on the wane somewhat over past couple of seasons and at 8lb higher than his most recent win, he will need to take full advantage of his good draw to be recording an eighth success.
Forecasts
Shaiyem (11/8), Robero (9/2), Welliesinthewater (7/1), North Creek (10/1), Ice Royal (10/1), Tellovoi (14/1), Kenstone (16/1), Pendo (20/1), Tee It Up Tommo (20/1), Imperial State (20/1), Skidby Mill (33/1)
A competitive heat where it is anticipated that Ice Royal, Welliesinthewater, Robero and North Creek should all be involved in the battle for prize money, though the win might go to SHAIYEM, who put in a good reappearance run at Newmarket and has not been put up by the handicapper. He can take advantage.
- Shaiyem
- Robero
- Ice Royal
