Pulled up over hurdles last month at Uttoxeter, soft ground wasn't any help there but has plenty to find on first Flat run since May if going to take a hand in this.

Fell well below the standard required at Lingfield earlier in the month over a longer trip, drops another 3lb as a result but remains hard to fancy.

Yet to win in 19 runs but has run some very credible races. Certainly isn't one to rely on but could be on a going day in this first start for a new trainer. Needs career-best to win.

Went close over a shorter trip here last month, was staying on at the finish then and makes appeal in this line-up having been raised the minimum.

Yet to really threaten in three starts on the AW, tackles the Polytrack here for the first time and is now out to the sort of trip that should suit. First run for new trainer, needs a market check.

Clear third at Lingfield last time, no chance with front pair. Drops 1lb and will be sporting a first-time hood for this Polytrack debut. Isn't out of things by any stretch.

Gained second AW success of his career over this C&D earlier in the month, has been hit with a 7lb increase for the win which makes things tough but should be in the mix.

Shining Romeo35
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-3| J: Tim Clark(3)| T: D P Quinn| OR:  61
20/1
Scored only AW win in 16 attempts over the C&D in January, arriving on the scene late to do so. Not able to repeat that in two runs since but is only 1lb higher now so could have a say if things fall perfectly.

Last seen finishing second over hurdles at Chepstow last month, is 3lb higher than when scoring over 2m here in November and can have a say if in that mood again.

The blinkers return but four runs this season have been substandard, most recently throwing in a stinker at Lingfield over a shorter trip. Won here in October from 1lb lower rating but hard to see a repeat in current form.

Sprung a surprise at 20/1 to score over a mile here last month, is lightly-raced and could have more to offer if taking to this longer trip at the first time of asking.

Forecasts

Rail Dancer (9/2), Monologue (9/2), Halling's Wish (7/1), Bridey's Lettuce (15/2), Sir Pass I Am (15/2), Multigifted (8/1), Alshan Fajer (8/1), Weld Arab (11/1), Bergholt (16/1), Shining Romeo (20/1), Dalavand (25/1), Munsarim (50/1)

Verdict

A wide open contest, former C&D winner Halling's Wish ran a fine race over a shorter trip in his reappearance and rates a big danger now while Sir Pass I Am has some potential to get involved and Shining Romeo, also a C&D winner, will attempt to swoop late. Rail Dancer needs to up the ante with a 7lb rise to contend with on the back of his recent win and so the vote is handed to MONOLOGUE. He sprung a surprise to win over a mile here last month on his penultimate outing and could have more to offer now stepped up in trip.
  1. Monologue
  2. Halling's Wish
  3. Rail Dancer
