Won two races last year and soundly beaten in two others. Faces a stiff task at the weights on return and on AW debut.
It is well documented what this trainer can achieve with sprinters obtained from other yards. Hardly appeals as well handicapped but jockey booking looks significant as he rode him to an impressive success at Windsor last summer.
Fourth in the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot and finally had a confidence boosting win in a minor event over C&D. Looks well treated on that Ascot form and has the benefit of that recent run.
Bought for 75,000 guineas, this son of Arch repaid the first instalment with a smooth performance to land a 5f maiden at Newcastle without too much fuss. Just touched off at Chelmsford by a more experienced rival produced with a well timed run on his latest start.
Winner and twice placed over 6f for William Haggas. Makes AW debut against horses who will be better suited by this trip and who appear better handicapped.
Beat two subsequent winners at Chelmsford including Nuclear Power who went on to finish fifth in the Group Three Cornwallis Stakes. Looks thrown in here off a mark of 80 based on that performance.
Winner of three claimers for William Haggas over 6f-7f. Down in trip and up in class so has plenty to do in order to maintain his unbeaten record.
Winner of two races at Lingfield as a juvenile but facing a much stiffer on return. Unlike a few in this she does appear to be a genuine 5f sprinter.
Forecasts
Rock Of America (5/2), Queen In Waiting (4/1), Nayyar (4/1), Full Intention (11/2), Evergate (8/1), Rose Berry (8/1), Dandy Flame (10/1), Jumping Around (33/1)
This is a competitive heat with a case possible to be made for all runners. The most compelling story can be attached to QUEEN IN WAITING who landed what has developed into a good maiden at Chelmsford. With the runner-up and third both franking the form it is only a matter of time before she exploits what is a most attractive mark. She is one to watch out for whatever her fate here today. Rock Of America was unlucky to be mugged on the line by a horse produced with a timely run last time and compensation awaits. Whilst Full Intention boasted useful juvenile form and will land better prizes than the maiden he collected last time.
- Queen In Waiting
- Rock Of America
- Full Intention
