Bred to want a bit further than this, and a rare runner in a bumper for the yard (0-9 in bumpers last 5 seasons). Looks an unlikely winner on debut.
Nicely bred and the yard's useful chaser Giles Cross can be found in the family, which gives an indication that he will want much further in time. Yard have a 9% strike rate in these races over the last 5 seasons. Others preferred today.
Two decent efforts from three starts so far, chasing home an easy winner at Wincanton last time. Acted on good ground here on debut (mixed messages from the form although second a winner next time) but may need improvement against some good types on paper here.
Second in two Irish point-to-points and making debut under Rules here. Winner of that latter point let the form down at Warwick (possibly not right) but yard have good record in these races (18% strike rate last five seasons). Market may guide.

Not disgraced on debut at Ludlow a fortnight ago but soon left behind as leaders quickened. Will come into his own at 3m+ on breeding and may find others have more speed once again.

Nice introduction at Stratford last month but the way he was staying on past horses late on (on much softer ground than he will encounter here) suggests that he will need a bit further. More likely winners today.

Third in only point-to-point start, but plenty of winners in the family and bred to have a bit more speed than a few here. However, yard have a poor rcord in these races (just the one winner in 30 runners last five seasons) and only of interest if market speaks strongly.
Made a decent debut at Warwick in January, staying on nicely despite racing freely in the early stages. Form of that only moderate, but at least has experience which, in a modest looking race, stands him in good stead.

Half-sister to the yard's Robin Roe, who won a bumper on her debut. Yard do well in these events (14% strike rate) and she's more likely than most to be wound up for her debut. Looks one of the main contenders today.

Forecasts

Forgot To Ask (5/2), Battle Of Ideas (7/2), Daylami Kirk (9/2), Roksana (5/1), Call Me Westie (8/1), Jaunty Flyer (16/1), The Pooler (16/1), Battlefield (20/1), Jimmy Bell (25/1)

Verdict

This looks the slightly weaker of the two divisions of the bumper, and can go to FORGOT TO ASK . The yard won this with The World's End last year and if this one has a fraction of that one's ability he'll take some beating. The yard have plenty of winners in this sphere and he can get off the mark at the first time of asking. Roksana gets a bit of weight and is a likely type for this, along with Battle Of Ideas.
  1. Forgot To Ask
  2. Roksana
  3. Battle Of Ideas
