Half-brother to a multiple winner at up to 1m4f and out of a Listed-placed dam at 1m2f-1m4f. Unfancied and made a quiet debut at Haydock over 1m in October and more anticipated over this longer trip at this age. Interesting.
Cost 220,000 GNS as a yearling and full-brother to top-class 5f-7f winner Equiano plus half-brother to five other winners. 16/1 and beaten 21L 14th of 16 on debut at Newbury in October (6½f). Should begin to see more today.
Put in a couple of reasonable efforts in 7f maidens last backend and should know more about the game now, though pedigree is more about speed and this step up to 1m slightly confusing.
Dam 1m-1m2f winner (including triple Group Three) and a half-sister to a German Group Three winner. Yard quiet just at the moment and therefore unless the market speaks for him, then this colt is perhaps one to watch today.
Failed to sell as a yearling. Half-sister to 1m winner Alegra and 1m2f winner Hope Is High, while dam won over 1m4f on All Weather and is a half-sister to Champion Stakes winner Alborada and German 1m4f Group One winner Albanova. Interesting debutante from a yard that does well with fillies.
Bred for speed, with winners from 6f-1m on her page, although her dam was an unraced half-sister to a staying hurdle/chase winner. Starting at this trip suggests that she has been showin more stamina than speed tendencies at home and perhaps best watched today.
Pedigree suggests that this trip should be ideal although she will have to improved markedly from her Wolverhampton debut last month to even figure on this occasion.
Made nothing more than a reasonable debut when promoted from fifth to fourth, beaten 4½L over 7f at Lingfield in December. Hood worn there dispensed with here and step up in trip looks positive. Market check suggested.
€90,000 yearling closely related to winners from 1m1f-1m4f, including Group Two. Dam was half-sister to a Cheveley Park winner too, so there is plenty of optimism on her page. Yard having its first turf runner here and another where a market check appears to be good sense.
Closely related to the Group Three winner Remote (1m-1m2f) and half-sister to the 7f-1m Group One winner Kingman. Dam won French 1,000 Guineas and is a half-sister to top sprinter/sire Oasis Dream.Sire won on debut at three. Dam runner-up on juvenile debut and won on debut at three. Looks the most interesting of these on paper.
Forecasts
Present Tense (3/1), Zamfir (7/2), Desert Dream (5/1), Teqany (5/1), Albizzia (6/1), Mostahel (12/1), Ifubelieveindreams (14/1), Mushareefa (25/1), California Cliffs (100/1), Book Of Dust (100/1)
Some likely types here but PRESENT TENSE is taken to win on debut, just as both her parents did on their first starts at this age. She has got an exceptional pedigree in the context of this race and that cannot be ignored. Of those to have had a run, Desert Dream and Mostahel are the most interesting pair and should begin to progress now, while Albizzia and Mushareefa are other newcomers to keep an eye on.
- Present Tense
- Desert Dream
- Mostahel
