In good form at the back-end of last year but form has dipped since then. Drops slightly in trip and has bit to prove over the shorter distance. Also looks vulnerable under topweight.
Very lightly campaigned in recent times but showed very little when finishing seventh of eight runners over C&D on his recent debut for his new yard. Needs to prove he can handle a couple of quick runs, so is probably best watched.
Raised 4lb for winning over C&D last time out, this consistent performer can be expected to be involved in the thick of the action once again. Needs to post a career best but loves this course and holds his form better than most.
Won over an extended mile at Wolverhampton but was anchored by a rating of 81 subsequently. Gelded since last seen out and now 6lb lower in the rating, he starts the season afresh in many way. His yard is very capable of knowing the time of day with this type of animal. One to watch closely in the betting.
Has improved in leaps and bounds since being upped to middle distances and has been successfully paired off with tonight's rider a couple of times already. Up a stone in the weights as a result, though. Also worrying that he finished last on his only previous visit to Kempton, so won't get things all his own way on this occasion.
Unexposed on the AW and may still have more to offer over this sort of trip. Been off quite a while, though, so may be sharper for the run. Very positive jockey booking, which offers some hope if he is ready to do himself justice.
Form dipped after he joined his current yard last season and while he goes well fresh and may have been sharpened up by a break, he does a bit to prove just now. Others preferred.
Some solid recent form to his name and his previous course win bolsters his claims even though he found a 5lb high mark difficult to cope with last time out. He still ran very respectably in defeat but raised a further 1lb, he now looks to be at the limit of his capabilities.
Forecasts
Synodic (11/4), Maestro Mac (10/3), Choral Clan (7/2), What Usain (6/1), Hard Toffee (6/1), Clovelly Bay (7/1), Mazalto (16/1), Bostonian (25/1)
Even though he needs to post a career best, CHORAL CLAN is a determined character and certainly may be too resilient for the likes of What Usain and Clovelly Bay who both face a stern test in this company. However, Synodic has enjoyed the challenge of his stamina being tested over 1m4f and can ensure that quarter measures will not be sufficient. Maestro Mac is another to keep tabs on in the betting as he makes his first start since being gelded and may prove to be another resilient opponent.
- Choral Clan
- Synodic
