Hails from a yard in form and looked in great fettle when reappearing with a comfortable win over 1m3f here on Saturday (ninth career success). Clearly of interest under a 6lb penalty but remains winless from 11 previous attempts over this trip.
Ex-French gelding who hasn't had that much racing for his age but won over 1m2f at Chelmsford two years ago off a higher mark. Tough going in two runs since reappearing after a year on the sidelines for a new yard but dropped 4lb.
Well-placed to win three times from just seven runs last season, signing off with a dogged career-best win over C&D from a 5lb lower mark. No surprise if there is still more to come but he reappears with his yard going through a quiet spell.
Formerly with Mick Channon, he is more renowned as a smart jumper but CV also includes a 1m4f AW maiden win at Lingfield just over two years ago. Has regressed since, however, and not sighted since a poor hurdles run on debut for this yard in September.
Gained the last of his three wins from a 4lb lower mark over 1m4f at Lingfield in November and has shaped encouragingly in both starts this term, finishing a runner-up on his first fibresand start last month. Yard going well, should figure.
Created a favourable impression when winning over 1m4f at Lingfield on her debut in December but didn't look suited by the sedate gallop when a 2L third behind Zain Arion on her handicap bow over the same C&D. Better expected here, strong claims.
Came good to win a 1m5f handicap at Lingfield in January and not beaten far in his next two starts from a revised mark. Just didn't seem to act on the fibresand at Southwell last time but comes into the reckoning back on polytrack.
Forecasts
Jacob Cats (2/1), Priors Brook (3/1), Marmajuke Bay (7/2), Dream Love (8/1), Pinwood (14/1), Lanceur (16/1), Sgt Reckless (20/1)
A decent contest in which Jacobs Cats looks sure to mount a bold bid under a penalty, having looked in great heart when winning here on Saturday. However, it's hard to escape the fact that he is winless over this trip from 11 previous attempts and the unexposed DREAM LOVE may have too much given that there should be a stronger gallop assured than she received last time. A market move for Marmaduke Bay would be interesting on his return whilst Priors Brook should also feature prominently with his yard going great guns.
- Dream Love
- Priors Brook
- Jacob Cats
