Moves to Flat maidens having performed poorly in a bumper earlier in the year. Showed little that day and presumably wouldn't be rerouted to the level if there was much hope for him in that sphere.
Has finished second on each of his career starts so far, all of them promising looking runs. Should take all the beating if able to build on those performances now a year older.
Son of Henrythenavigator who has been gelded prior to this racecourse debut. Pedigree is relatively unexciting, and suggests a maiden on debut will probably be beyond his reach.
Cost €160,000 as a two year old, with a fair US pedigree which includes some black type. Fascinating runner on debut for some top connections.
Hasn't shown too much on his first few racecourse appearances, though he does have plenty going for him here, including his experience and a step up in trip.
Didn't show an incredible level of form on two racecourse appearances last year and makes his debut for 2017 as a first time gelding with something to prove.
Looked like a step up in trip would help when finishing sixth on debut at this course on debut, but he does have a longer absence than most to overcome.
Twice raced last year but showed little on either start, and was sent off big odds on each occasion. That looks likely again today, and the step up to a mile will have to make all the difference for her to get involved.
Cost £16,000 as a yearling and wears a hood and blinkers on her racecourse debut. Worth a check in the market.
Forecasts
Archer's Arrow (5/4), Dhalam (9/4), Zamalight (4/1), Koeman (9/1), Leopard (16/1), Desert Explorer (33/1), Darcey Lou (100/1), Vaudieu (100/1), Doodle Dandy (250/1)
This should go to ARCHER'S ARROW, who has been unlucky to finish second on all three racecourse appearances so far. Given his profile and his connections, there should be plenty more to come now he's turned three, and this looks to be his moment to get off the mark. If he just fails again, perhaps the relatively experienced Koeman or the newcomer Dhalam could pick up the pieces.
- Archer's Arrow
- Koeman
- Dhalam
