Just one win from 14 starts and likely to need this having not been seen since what looked like an unlucky fourth of 11 at Windsor last time. Trainer has 30.19% (16-53) strike-rate at this course though, so any market support would be significant.

C&D winner back in December and followed up at Lingfield in January but she struggles off a mark this high historically and that's been proven with her latest two unplaced efforts at Lingfield on her last two starts. Dropped 1lb but likely to need more relief from the handicapper before getting her head back in front.

Some promise in maidens at the start of her career but struggled in handicaps since. Has first start for new yard after a winter break and visor replaces the usual cheekpieces; any market support would be interesting for a trainer/jockey combination that can boast a 24.32% strike-rate around here.

Recorded first win in 27 starts last time out and obviously well-handicapped on the form of 2014. However, she can often miss the break and she wouldn't be one to take too short-a-price about, especially at a course that hold-up performers can struggle at.

Yet to win a race and very disappointing favourite last time at Wolverhampton. Previous three runner-up efforts (one coming here) entitle her to some sort of respect but vulnerable to anything improving.

Verdict

It what looks a tight competitive handicap, it may be worth chancing CHELABELLA on her first start for this yard. While she doesn't have much recent form that entitles her to consideration, her runner-up effort at Lingfield on her third start is an interesting piece of form and she would be well-handicapped if she reproduced that effort; a change of scenery/break might have freshened her up. Ejayteekay is another that has fitness questions to answer returning from an absence but the trainer has a good strike-rate at this course and his filly shouldn't be ruled out. Ixelles Diamond is very-well handicapped on the form that saw her win at Epsom in 2014 but she wouldn't want to give her rivals a head-start around this track, something that has become a trait in her races.
  1. Chelabella
  2. Ejayteekay
  3. Ixelles Diamond
