Has failed to build on a promising debut and is becoming expensive to follow. Found little under pressure two outings ago and different tactics employed last time. May have his own ideas about the game and is one to be cautious about.

Winner of a seller in a first time visor at odds of 25/1 when appearing to have little chance at the weights. Handicapper's new assessment, based on a literal interpretation of that effort, found him wanting next time. Has more solid claims with a 4lb drop in the weights, different headgear and a claiming rider in top form.

Has found little at the business end of his races. Continues to drop down the weights but remains hard to recommend at present.

Encountered all kinds of trouble in running last time when producing an improved display off this mark. Had Forest Angel behind that day and the extra furlong can only help. Makes polytrack debut.

Winner of a couple of nurseries here last season. Well below that level this term and finished last on her most recent run.

Interesting with top rider booked for AW debut. Improved when switched to nurseries last autumn and shapes as though he may need further. Sire gets his share of AW winners. Off the track since September and meets sharper rivals here.

Makes handicap debut on a modest mark based on three efforts that have revealed little ability. Stable have had a couple of winners recently.

Some of her best efforts have come at this track. Seems to run the same race each time as she comes from off the pace to pass beaten horses. Remains a 13 race maiden looking for a race run at a strong pace. Doubtful that will be the case here.

Produced a freakish performance to land an apprentice race at Southwell last week in which his better fancied stable companion was third. Escapes a penalty for that success but had looked a temperamental sort prior to that run. Fibresand form does not always translate to faster surfaces but no doubting he will be difficult to beat if running to the same level.

Has improved since going handicapping. Belied odds of 20/1 on her reappearance with a good third before missing the break next time. Found trouble un running that day and did well to finish as close as she did. Stable are 2-8 on the AW here and she has a leading claimer booked to ride.

Forecasts

Chamasay (15/8), No Not Again (4/1), Whatalove (7/1), Sir Plato (8/1), Masquerade Bling (8/1), Forest Angel (8/1), De Vegas Kid (10/1), Dragon Dream (14/1), Legendoire (14/1), Oakley Pride (14/1), Follow Me (40/1)

Verdict

There is no doubting Chamasay is the clear pick on form having romped home by 5L last time. Having looked a tricky customer previously, and with no guarantee he will be as effective on this faster surface, WHATALOVE may be the more prudent selection. The filly has shown her first signs of ability since switching into handicap company and, with her capable rider claiming 5lb, she merits the pick. De Vegas Kid looked unlucky last time and compensation awaits soon if not today.
