Two runs in bumpers only revealed how green he was. Pedigree suggests this faster surface may suit him better and stable are 3-13 on the Flat since the turn of the year.

Runner-up in four turf bumpers. Little known sire has AW winners in the US. More than capable of winning a run of the mill race such as this.

140,000 guineas purchase as a foal by See The Stars out of a half-sister to double Oaks winner Ramruma. Off the track since an inauspicious debut two seasons ago. Jockey booking suggests the run is going to be needed.

Soon pushed along and tailed off on debut. Looked green that day and probably needs a lot more track experience.

Ran well in a couple of bumpers before running poorly on latest start (finished 30L behind C'est No Mour). New headgear configuration tried and champion jockey (19-98 for yard in AW races) has the leg up.

Purchased for £140,000 as a yearling in 2015 out of a listed-placed mare. Green on debut and third of six behind a useful looking sort last time. Sire gets few AW winners and even fewer over this far. Yard are 31-120 with their AW three-year-olds at this track over the past five years.

Fifth foal of a dam who was a listed winner in the UAE. Half-brother to a couple of winners and represents a yard that had another newcomer win a similar race last week with a 20/1 shot.

Age: 3|  Weight: 8-8| J: Adam Beschizza| T: J J Bridger
250/1
Half-brother to French Group 3 and Listed winners at 1m2f and 1m4f . Last of six on debut and tackles an extra 3f here. Yard do not get many winners in this class of race and his future probably lies in handicaps.

Temir Kazyk12
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-8| J: T Eaves| T: D M Simcock
10/1
Half-brother to a number of AW winners. A promising debut at Newcastle was followed by a less encouraging effort last time. Has a chance in a race as bad as this but others have showed more.

Altyn Alqa
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-3| J: L Morris| T: C G Cox
4/1
First foal of a dam who is related to a number of smart performers. Sire gets his share of AW winners. Jockey 3-16 on AW three-year-olds for the yard with a further six placed. The market will indicate how forward she is for her debut.

Forecasts

Eskendash (5/2), Chippenham (11/4), Hawkerland (7/2), Altyn Alqa (4/1), Temir Kazyk (10/1), Reel Leisure (16/1), I'm Running Late (25/1), C'Est No Mour (40/1), Sehail (66/1), Moorea (250/1)

Verdict

Chippenham and Tamir Kazyk represent good yards but have only performed to a moderate level so far. The newcomer Altyn Alqa would not have to be anything special to win this and is worth a check in the market. ESKENDASH ran well enough in a 1m5f Doncaster bumper to suggest he has a chance in a race as weak as this. That race was run in a good time and, as he boasts a solid AW pedigree, he may represent some value in a race which lacks depth.
  1. Eskendash
  2. Chippenham
  3. Temir Kazyk
