Needs the more thorough test this offers. Has won seven races including three on the Flat in this country. Those wins came of ratings of 60, 61 and 66. Has an excellent chance to make all under top apprentice off this mark.
Was ridden to get the trip at Newcastle last time on first try at this distance. That race developed into a sprint so reveals little proof he stays this far. Respected for talented trainer but others preferred.
Record of two wins from 36 starts and last success came three years ago. The presence of Tempuran should ensure the decent gallop he needs.
22-race maiden who was again made to look one paced when sent off favourite last time. The move up to 2m may help but few would bet on it.
Winner of six races but on the decline since a Southwell success in November 2015. Off the track six months and tends to need his first run back from an absence.
Only had four runs and steps up appreciably in distance. Has been off the track since last May having shown little so far. Yard have had a winner recently and rider has a good record in long distance races. Worth a check in the market.
Went into rapid decline following a Newmarket win last season. Appeared to have found her level at Chelmsford earlier this month before producing two more sobering efforts at Kempton and Exeter. Hard to recommend.
Took 25 races to get of the mark but has found this surface and a test of stamina much to his liking. The presence of Tempuran will ensure this is a more truly run race and that will ask more serious questions than he has faced of late.
15-race maiden has only been placed once. Yard continue in good form and that would be the only positive.
Forecasts
Author's Dream (2/1), Mr Globetrotter (9/2), Ryan The Giant (9/2), Tempuran (7/1), Cape Spirit (8/1), Oyster Card (10/1), Cold Fusion (16/1), Lineman (16/1), The Quarterjack (20/1)
Much will depend on the pace set by TEMPURAN. The topweight has an abundance of stamina and the likes of Mr Globetrotter and Ryan The Giant will attract support based on efforts in races run at a more sedate pace. If TEMPURAN decides to make this a true test then few of these have either the stamina or the appetite to take him on. Ryan The Giant makes most appeal of the aforementioned pair whilst Author's Dream would be interesting should the market speak in his favour.
- Tempuran
- Ryan The Giant
- Author's Dream
