Was in good form on the turf in September/October winning two handicaps of the lofty marks of 90 and 95. Found his new mark (103) beyond him on a rare AW start in November and tries again off the same mark after a short break.
Not seen since finishing down the field in the Ebor in August but does have some decent AW form to his name. His best two runs have come over further when placed here in conditions events and would be interesting on those two runs returning from a break.
Has a good record over C&D (112) with the last win coming off just 1lb lower. His mark has crept up since then and he doesn't have much in hand off this mark and although he wasn't ideally placed last time out he was never really a threat.
Very lightly raced on the AW and his latest run over C&D was just his second on an artificial surface. Shaped well enough on that occasion and handicapper has relented a little but he's still not won since 2013.
Formerly a smart performer he's now had four starts since returning from a long break all on the AW. Came good on the third of those runs at Wolverhampton winning a 1m1f claimer but looking as though he still needed further but the mark in this grade still looks a stiff one.
Smart AW performer with two of his five AW wins coming over C&D the last one three starts ago off a mark of 90. Well beaten in two starts since here (one over C&D) off increased marks but may get a soft lead.
All three career wins have come on the AW (all over shorter) with the latest success recorded on his penultimate start at Kempton Park over 1m2f. That was probably a career best staying on well to win comfortably despite pulling hard in the early stages. Not the most consistent however and no surprise to see him beaten last time out and tries a new trip here.
Has won twice on the Turf but has yet to score on the AW from a limited amount of attempts. Ran his best race on an artificial surface last time out when taking the runner-up slot over this trip and is reunited with a jockey who is 1/1 on him here.

A good class handicap that gives a few of these the chance of getting back on the winning trail and SENNOCKIAN STAR who has won off higher marks than this will be of interest with what looks to be a relatively soft lead. He certainly knows his way around here and looks a fairly straightforward ride for his claiming rider. If he was fit and ready to go then Ballynanty would be of interest as he does have some decent AW form to his name and Abareeq has to be considered in the light of his win last time out even over this new trip. Gawdawpalin looks to have more to come on the AW especially reunited with today’s rider and Dashing Star and Great Hall add to what is an interesting contest.
