Continues to fall in the weights. Drops back to a mile after two attempts over further. Had previously looked one paced and in need of further. Tries the Fibresand for the first time and sire's progeny have a weak record here.
Looks a difficult ride and did not impress on his sole start on this surface. Yard do well here but it remains difficult to be enthusiastic about his prospects.
Ran well enough last time to suggest he can win a race as poor as this. Makes Fibresand debut for a yard who are 0-10 here in the last five seasons. Sire has had a few winners on this surface.
Interesting now handicapping for yard that do well here. Top jockey booked and all eyes will be on the market for further clues.
Has first run since switch from Stuart Edmunds. Last couple of efforts were more positive. Has fitness to prove plus adaptability to this surface.
One paced fourth on latest start. Sire's progeny do improve with racing so there could be more to come and probably over further. Up against fitter rivals today.
Winner last time out and only 1lb higher in the weights now. Beaten a long way on only previous start here and that raises alarms.
Makes Fibresand debut having looked a difficult customer in the past. Comes here fresh which may turn out to be a positive but his overall profile is unconvincing.
Makes Fibresand debut for new yard that are going well at the moment. Difficult to recommend after finishing last on his two latest starts. Drops significantly in trip and cheekpieces are now tried.
Three runs down the field have earned her a modest mark for her handicap debut. Sire's progeny do well on this surface and yard are 11-34 here in the past five seasons. Races from 1lb out of the handicap but remains one of the more interesting runners in this.
Too far out of the handicap to warrant any interest in this. Has never threatened to win a race and no reason to expect any different here.
Forecasts
Major Tom (7/2), Padleyourowncanoe (9/2), Viola Park (11/2), Av A Word (6/1), Georgio (6/1), Topmeup (8/1), Hold Me Tight (10/1), Chamasay (25/1), Master Billie (25/1), Millybond (33/1), Red Shanghai (100/1)
HOLD ME TIGHT has shown enough to suggest he can win a race of this nature. He arrives fit and without having to make any guesses about his ability. Millybond and Major Tom both represent stables that have a good record here. Both are interesting on their handicap debuts with market moves for either needing to be heeded.
- Hold Me Tight
- Major Tom
- Millybond
