Progressing nicely over fences and readily accounted for two in form rivals last time. Handicapper has not over reacted to that effort and he looks better than handicapped than some in this. The race could be set up nicely for him with a good pace assured and he has every chance of adding to his trainer's fine record here.

May not have seen out the trip when beaten by Cabragh on his chasing debut and he will be a different proposition here. The handicapper has had his say following two victories against weaker opposition than this which have seen him go up 18lb. Has now won six of his last eight whilst finishing second in the other two.

Front-runner who is unbeaten here but yet to prove he gets this far. A career high mark and two other rivals who like to dictate the pace makes this even more difficult.

Stays the trip well enough but has never won off a mark this high. Forcing tactics have been employed to good effect recently but he may be more adaptable than some of the other pace setters in this. Going is perfect but it is likely he will once again find another rival too strong.

Cabraghp24
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-8| J: Jonathan England| T: S England| OR:  114
9/2
A winner here over 3m2f when On The Road was 13L behind. Could be a different story over this shorter trip and given he is unlikely to be able to dominate from the front. Prone to jumping errors which will he can ill afford at this level.

Forecasts

Wolf Sword (5/2), Bishops Court (11/4), On The Road (7/2), Cabragh (9/2), Volvalien (6/1)

Verdict

This valuable prize has attracted five chasers who have peaked at the right time. All have to overcome inevitable reactions from the handicapper but BISHOPS COURT seems to have got off more lightly having beaten two recent winners at Wincanton last time with a fair bit in hand. His stable have an outstanding record here with their chasers and he can add to that tally. Conditions will suit Wolf Sword and his stable are going well too. He may lack the scope for improvement of some of these but he runs to a consistent level and that may be enough against rivals who need to prove they can defy the handicapper again. On The Road cannot be faulted on recent achievements and this is by far his sternest test to date. Having won six races in the last year which have seen him rise almost 50lb in the weights it would be unwise to dismiss his chances here.
  1. Bishops Court
  2. Wolf Sword
  3. On The Road
