Promising effort when last seen in October at Wolverhampton, defying slow start and poor luck in running to run on for third. Even luck would give him claims in this company.

Has been in good heart since the turn of the year, ran a stormer in this grade at Chelmsford latest, just giving best on the line only to be awarded race in the stewards' room. Should run his race again on recent evidence, despite higher mark.

On his best form he'd have strong claims but has looked out of sorts all starts this term, including most recently at Chelmsford earlier this month. Has the ability but hard to fancy he'll put it forward in current mood.

Slipping to a dangerous mark, penultimate run at this track had some promise to it and is a previous C&D winner. Has a chance in a weak event.

Goes back up in trip to the mile this evening but recent form is more than worrying, showing very little enthusiasm for the job and making him impossible to fancy, unplaced in last 16 starts.

Filly ran a decent race over 6f at this venue last month when finishing third, not repeated that effort in two subsequent outings over 7f and now tackles the mile for the first time.

Continues to tumble down the ratings, showed little at Wolverhampton latest when coming back from unsuccessful tilt at hurdling. Best form remains at 7f and formbook suggests he'll struggle.

Glimpses of ability on the turf last summer but out of sorts again on this surface over 7f this month. Is now a 20-race maiden and at home in this grade.

Well over three years since he's got his head in front but mark is now lowly and has at least been threatening since turn of the year. One previous try at the mile came here and would give him a chance in this company.

More disappointing efforts than anything else of late, did run a good race at Wolverhampton last month this sort of trip and return to the mile should aid him in a race he won last year.

Remains a maiden after 15 starts, best effort for some time over trip at Wolverhampton latest when third of 15 at 25/1, claims if able to build on that.

First run on the AW, off since June and form on turf strongly suggests she'll have it all on to win this. Tackles the mile for the first time.

Back up to the mile here last week and ran best race for some time to finish a close-up third. Wide draw is no help in attempt to back that run up however.

Verdict

It's been a long while since FOSSA got his head in front but there have been some tentative signs of a revival since the turn of the year. His sole previous try at this trip came around here in better company and, if replicating Wolverhampton form from last month, he has a chance off current mark to get back on the board. This is a weak contest so Mowhoob, who broke his AW duck in the stewards' room at Chelmsford recently, has to be given a chance despite his new rating. Coming back from a break Rafaaf is also one to note in the market having performed well enough at Wolverhampton when last spotted while Gavarnie Encore has also slipped to a potentially dangerous mark. Kristoff, third at Wolverhampton last time, will be on the premises if able to replicate that run. Lutine Charlie is 3lb lower than when winning this race 12 months ago but has been out of sorts since. 1. Fossa 2. Rafaaf 3. Mowhoob
