Only chase win came in the mud over 2m7f at Taunton a year ago and prone to jumping errors since, though suspicion is he remains fairly-treated. Modest effort in first-time blinkers latest, dispensed with here.

Mud-lover who has been lightly-raced since notching the last of his four chase wins at Warwick in December 2015. Back on a winning mark but dropped away tamely at Chepstow last month and needs to up his game.

Consistent without winning over hurdles but soon tailed off and pulled up on chasing debut on return from a lengthy absence. Best watched in the short-term.

Well-handicapped on the form he showed to win back-to-back chases two years ago but has toiled in the main since, though not beaten far in a weak race at Warwick latest.

Plenty of promise shown to win twice as a novice but only two runs last season and very hit-or-miss this term. Not one to place maximum faith in, but form of Exeter second on penultimate outing stands up well.

Rattled of a hat-trick chase wins over 2m4f last winter before the handicapper got his measure, though regained the winning thread in the mud over 3m1f at Catterick two weeks ago. Another bold bid likely despite a 3lb rise.

C&D winner off today's mark in April 2014 and showed he retains ability with a win at Plumpton in November. Didn't jump well when pulling-up at Huntingdon last time but dangerous to discount.

Three point-to-point wins on his CV and came close to opening his account over fences when touched-off in a three-way finish over C&D last month. Probably better judged on that effort than when failing to handle a stiffer stamina test at Towcester latest.

Forecasts

Financial Climate (10/3), Water Wagtail (7/2), Sonny The One (9/2), Black Narcissus (6/1), Shanann Star (8/1), Castarnie (8/1), Paddy The Oscar (10/1), Royal Redemption (16/1)

Verdict

A trappy affair in which Black Narcissus is bound to be popular after returning to form with a win at Catterick (3lb lower mark) earlier this month but he would be vulnerable off a career-high mark if any number of these returned to form. A chance is taken on former C&D winner WATER WAGTAIL who was let down by his jumping at Huntingdon last time but is well-treated on some of his earlier form lines. Sonny The One and Financial Climate would also hold every chance if staging a form revival. 1. Water Wagtail 2. Black Narcissus 3. Financial Climate
