Verdict

No last time out winners in this race but there are still some interesting performers to take a look at and a couple that look as though they may well be able to build on their last starts. Verne Castle was in good form prior to his fifth at Wolverhampton where he didn’t get the run of the race at all. Fly Tune was finishing to good effect last time out but does have to produce a little more here taking a rise in grade. Both Vimy Ridge and Taajub are capable of winning races like this but in the end this may be best left to COME ON DAVE. Positive tactics have always suited him best and he’s well drawn to execute them today from a good draw in stall 1. 1. Come On Dave 2. Verne Castle 3. Taajub
