Showed minor promise in maiden company, including when third over this trip at Chester in August, but disappointing in two starts in nurseries (beat one rival) and last of seven to the progressive Rashford's Double here in early October. Dropped 3lbs and back from a break.
Been busy since late December, rattling up the required three starts in maidens to qualify for a handicap mark (allocated 67). Tends to race prominently and tried over trips ranging from 6f to 1m so hard to know exactly what trip will suit best, but no surprise to see her go well on handicap debut.
Successful on his sole run at this track over 1m (for this rider) in November. Still rated 4lbs higher than for that victory, but eased marginally for defeats at Kempton and Lingfield subsequently. Drop back to 7f unlikely to be problematic on return to Newcastle.
His best runs have come at this track including in mid December over C&D when going under by two short heads to Arthurthedelegator and Dusty Bin (fourth won since) and pulled too hard last time in a better race at Wolverhampton. Maiden, but obvious contender.
Possibly not suited by Southwell last time, but very closely matched with Hotfill on their running here last month so almost guaranteed to go close with that rival. Still lightly raced over further than 6f and open to improvement over longer trips, and sports the first time cheek-pieces today seeking a second career success.
Raced three times on synthetics in five career starts, but makes Newcastle bow today. Not immediately obvious what is his best trip, but best effort when fourth in sole start on Tapeta at Wolverhampton earlier this month at least suggests it might well be a stiff 7f.
First time tongue tie applied for handicap debut (off a mark of 64), having taken a small step forward on his final start in maiden company here over 6f in a much better contest than this in mid November. One to watch closely in the market.
Has left Bryan Smart since her last run in November (finished lame), and makes her debut for John Balding here. Runner up on both previous visits to this track (5f and 7f) and every chance on that last run here in October behind Ronnie The Rooster.
Forecasts
Galahad (15/8), Hotfill (3/1), Dusty Bin (4/1), Ode To Paris (8/1), Spinwheel (9/1), Bloomin Lovely (10/1), Out of Order (20/1), Sheila's Return (25/1)
A low grade handicap where Hotfill and Dusty Bin clash again with precious little to separate them based upon their previous meeting here in mid December, with course winner Galahad also firmly respected despite dropping back in trip to 7f, and Sheila's Return seemingly bound to be competitive on her best form on debut for John Balding. However, there are a couple of mildly interesting handicap debutants, including Spinwheel who has rattled up three quick runs in maidens to be allocated an opening mark of 67, and the first time tongue tied OUT OF ORDER, who could on pedigree prove well suited by stepping up in trip and is therefore worth chancing in the absence of a strong fancy.
1. Out of Order
2. Galahad
3. Sheila's Return
