The drop back to the minimum trip looks an obvious bonus and she sets a fair standard for the rest to aim at but vulnerable to anything progressive.
Fairly cheap purchase (5,000 gns) as a yearling and trainers runners usually need their debut appearance.
Frustrating maiden who's been beaten as favourite or second favourite on eight occasions. Likely to be thereabouts but there has to be a question mark over her will to win.
Started life in a seller. Unplaced on first two starts at big odds and likely to be recording a first win in handicap company rather than here.
Performed relatively well in what looked like a decent maiden at Kempton last time. Entitled to come on plenty for that and sire has a good record on this surface.
Unplaced on six career starts and has plenty to make up with several of these who are rated a fair bit higher, never mind something more progressive.
Finished ahead of Bithynia on her last start and just went down a neck to the favourite. Appeared to have every chance to go past but refused to put her head in front and possibly has attitude issues.
Cost 90,000 gns as a yearling. Inconvenienced by racing too wide last time but that was a decent effort. Hard to know what the form's worth and whether this drop in trip will suit but she has to be a player in this line up.
Showed very little on debut at odds of 66/1 but cost £32,000 as a two-year-old so likely there's more to come. Trainer's in good form and any market move may prove significant.
Trainer's debutantes are usually in need of the run and pedigree points to needing further than this. Probably best watched on debut.
Forecasts
Bellevarde (2/1), Mitigate (3/1), Hathfa (7/2), Bithynia (6/1), Cherry Leyf (6/1), Scala Regia (20/1), Berryessa (33/1), Neptune Star (66/1), Ginger Truffle (66/1), Brean Flyer (100/1)
CHERRY LEYF showed a bit of ability last time and she may be able to build on that, having her second start today. Hathfa's attitude has to be in question after failing to go through with her effort last time but she ought to be thereabouts again. It will be interesting to see whether Mitigate can cope with the drop in trip but she cost plenty as a yearling and has showed promise on both starts to date.
1. Cherry Leyf
2. Hathfa
3. Mitigate
