Won a valuable handicap at Chantilly in May but failed to kick on from that. Respectable run in a Newmarket race when last seen staying on well for fifth. Has a break to overcome but sole win came after an absence so no ruled out if returning to his French form.
Unplaced on last five starts but produced a promising run at Chelmsford last time out to finish fourth when well backed and entitled to come on for that run. Trainer and jockey have a good strike-rate around here when teaming up together.
In good form around Chelmsford of late and produced a career best to win at Kemmpton last time out. 5 lb rise demands more though and there's a suspicion there are better handicapped runners lurking elsewhere in the field.
Unplaced on last 11 starts and got no sort of run last time at Chelmsford. Hasn't won in five attempts around here but has run well. Wide draw makes life tough.
Stole a march on his rivals last time when winning at Wolverhampton but has always struggled from a mark this high in the past and unlikely to get such an easy time of things out in front on this occasion and wide draw will make it difficult to execute those tactics again.
Probably better over 6f but has enjoyed an Indian summer to his career this winter. Down four lb for recent disappointing effort but still 2 lb above last winning mark and others have stronger win claims.
C&D winner who didn't show much on recent reappearance. Entitled to come on for that but likely to have a struggle for the lead in this field and may well be in the handicapper's grip.
Unplaced on nine starts for this yard and has habitual issues with missing the break. Won a Listed event over C&D in March 2015 and very well handicapped but can't afford any stalls antics in this field.
On a 12 race losing run but unlucky not to win on a couple of those occasions and finished behind a well-handicapped rival who has won again since last time. However, still 2 lb above last winning mark and probably marginally better over a mile.
Creditable effort last time when possibly throwing his chance away by hanging in behind runners when throwing down his challenge and racing too keenly. Definite claims if the application of a hood works the oracle but comes with risks attached.
Showed very little on latest reappearance run but entitled to come on for that and he's back down to his last winning mark. Needs to prove his well-being to some extent but no forlorn hope if he's back to his best.
Proved quirky over hurdles but more straightforward on the Flat. Delivered to perfection by Graham Lee over C&D last time but likely to need more now up 4 lb in the handicap.
Course winner who turned into a Fibresand specialist throughout his career. Probably hasn't got the toe anymore for this kind of contest and been out of form lately.

HONIARA is a bit of a mercurial type but he has placed twice on the AW in France and may be worth siding with when bearing in mind his best run to date came off the back of an absence similar to this. Strong Challenge may produce just that to the selection if he comes on for his recent Chelmsford reappearance and Mr Christopher is a danger if he takes to his first-time hood.
