Pulled up at Wetherby latest and it was disconcerting the way he folded tamely on the final circuit. He's better than that but it hardly bodes well as a prep-race for him to shoulder topweight in a competitive handicap like this.
Lightly raced and getting the hang of things over hurdles. But has been totally unfancied in any of his races to date and, even though this is moderate level, he may need a little more education before he can be backed with any confidence.
Improved to win an amateur riders event in good style at Hereford - races off a 9lb higher mark as a result but entitled to respect in this grade. One to consider.
Dropped to a handy mark and, as one who will appreciate the cut in the ground, should be suited by the conditions. From an in-form yard so plenty of reasons to expect a solid effort.
Took a heavy fall when still in contention at Fontwell last time out. Has sensibly been given time to get over the experience and is capable of being in the shake-up if he keeps his mind on the task - he can run freely but is capable at this level.
No impression last time out and is becoming a tad frustrating. Has ability as evidenced but has failed to complete in two of his last three starts. One to be wary of for now.
Flattered by his finishing position the last time her raced here and, given his poor efforts since then, he makes limited appeal on recent evidence.
Showed ability in Irish point-to-points but is yet to transfer that enthusiasm to racing under rules. Fell on his first visit to Exeter but at least managed to complete last time out. But did very little to suggest his turn is near to hand.
May not want the ground to be on the heavy side as his better form has been produced a more solid surface. He does come here on the back of his best effort to date though - he was 4L clear when he slipped on landing at the second-last fence. Watch the betting market to see if reverting to hurdles is expected to bring about a change of fortune.
Better record over hurdles than fences but he is of modest ability and on a long losing run. He does stay the trip well and at least has a course success to his name, though - he could represent good value for each-way punters at this level.
Sprung a bit of a surprise when he ran in into third at long odds at Chepstow last April. However, he failed to complete on either start since and now appears to have reverted to type.
Showed very little on his recent reappearance after a very long absence; so is very difficult to assess on that form. Represents shrewd connections but probably best left alone just now.
The course record will no doubt still be in tact should this fellow plug on to victory. He stays well but does nothing very quickly. Heavy ground would also be a concern.
In behind Titch Strider on his penultimate start and, given the way his was brushed aside last time out, he is hardly a solid bet to reverse that form alone.
Tiring when she fell at Uttoxeter last time out but is better judged on a solid effort at Towcester last month. That form is nothing out of the ordinary but she did show a willing attitude and, as the mare likes to force the pace, she may well enjoy himself today. A lively outsider even though she is still a maiden.
Finished a long way down the field behind Mr Caffrey here back in March and has a very tough task ahead in trying to reverse that form. Posted a better effort last time out but still makes limited appeal as a betting proposition.
Switched codes after winning on the AW at Lingfield for John Gosden several years ago. He is a nicely-bred individual but is no Istabraq and has shown nothing to suggest he can pay his way in the winter game.
Forecasts
Late Shipment (5/2), Rescued Glory (13/2), Pink Gin (8/1), Admiral Blake (8/1), Aaryam (8/1), The Model County (12/1), Titch Strider (12/1), Bound Hill (14/1), Relentless (16/1), Mr Caffrey (16/1), Karl Marx (20/1), Goosen Maverick (25/1), Alla Svelta (28/1), Sangram (40/1), Tactical Manoeuvre (50/1), Follow The Master (66/1), Just Archie (100/1)
Not too many stand out as reliable options here but LATE SHIPMENT was a ready winner last time out and has been found a weak race to test himself from a 9lb higher mark. Pink Gin and Alla Svelta are others to note in the betting, while Admiral Blake also has a chance of making the frame at this level.
1. Late Shipment
2. Pink Gin
3. Alla Svelta
