10lbs higher than when successful over C&D last month, and seemingly not suited by dropping back to 5f under a penalty last time. Nathan Evans takes 3lbs of that rise away (second on her three starts back).
Not seen since finishing third at Redcar in September, but posted some fair efforts on both turf and Tapeta over the summer. Third on sole start on Fibresand on debut.
Kempton Polytrack winner for Charlie Fellowes (Dec 2015), and more latterly took a C&D claimer for this trainer (& jockey) early last month. Placed twice here since at this level including when third behind Tick The Boxes last month.
Had a number of trainers during her career with her last success being for Mark Rimell at Pontefract in September 2015. Tailed off on stable debut last month over too short a trip, and step up will suit from falling mark.
Dual course winner (including over C&D in February 2016). Slowly working her way back to form after a short break, and keeping on well over shorter when third here earlier in the month. Her turn looks near.
Twice placed for Brian Ellison early last turf campaign at Pontefract and Catterick, but not able to build upon that from this sort of mark thereafter. Off since July and makes stable debut.
Veteran winner of 24 races on the AW (& runner up on a further 20 occasions). However, yet to win on Fibresand, and not seen at this track since December 2015.
Sole success coming on debut at Lingfield in August 2015, but twice a runner up at trips upto a mile at Chester and Haydock last summer. Well below par in four AW starts since November, but has fallen 11lbs since and tackles this surface for the first time.
Course 5f winner off a mark of 60 in December 2015, but did score off this mark at Doncaster in July. Campaigned mainly over shorter, and runner up here to Piazon last month but possibly held by Englishwoman on the evidence of her most recent outing.
Eight time winner including for this yard in Guernsey, and three times on synthetics for Brett Johnson. 5f winner at Ffos Las in September off a 13lb higher mark, and whilst technically well handicapped was last of eleven over C&D last time.
Forecasts
Englishwoman (9/4), Vroom (10/3), Ticks The Boxes (9/2), Semana Santa (11/2), Sarabi (14/1), Bell Heather (16/1), Satchville Flyer (16/1), Desert Strike (33/1), Bad Girl Caoimhe (33/1), Spiraea (66/1)
Tick The Boxes has been hammered by the handicapper for her C&D success last month, but her subsequent defeat is perhaps misleading (being over shorter). Vroom goes well for his rider and has run consistently well for Gay Kelleway of late and is closely matched with Tick The Boxes. Semana Santa is of some interest switched to this surface off a short break, but ENGLISHWOMAN has the profile of a horse running into form at a time of year that she has done well at in the past, and this return to six furlongs looks ideal.
1. Englishwoman
2. Ticks The Boxes
3. Semana Santa
