Last at this course on reappearance. Seems to have regressed since winning on debut and hard to fancy in current form.
On a 19 race losing run but did finish second, three starts back over C&D. However, they appeared to go off too hard there, with the majority of the hold up horses leading at the finish. Previous C&D winner but hard to fancy.
Model of consistency but has been struggling a little from this high in the handicap. This looks a weaker affair than what he's been contesting and he just struggles to keep his head in front over 10f so the drop back in trip has to be taken as a positive.
Two time C&D winner who is on a feasible mark but has a tough draw to contend with here. Versatile tactics wise at least and should be thereabouts.
Disappointing when returning from a break last time. Very inconsistent performer but not handicapped out of things if he's on a going day.
Been largely out of form since C&D win six starts back. Opposable from a tough draw.
Three-time winner who scored back-to-back wins at Southwell at the start of last year. Poor since then until hinting at a return to form last time out. Well handicapped and interesting if he can build on that run.
C&D winner who has showed very little either side of that sole win. Probably wants a strong pace to aim at and not guaranteed to get it here.
Poor run last time out and not many excuses for that. Gives the impression the mile stretches him so others preferred on this occasion.
Looks on upward curve currently and only just missed out last time. The step up in trip looks sure to suit now he's hit form and looks the one to beat.
All three wins have come on the AW and got on well with this rider last time when just touched off by Skidby Mill. Well handicapped on old form so certainly has claims if back to his best.
Hasn't been in much form recently but hinted at a revival when fifth of eleven last time. Off a career-low mark now so tough to rule out but probably a better horse on the turf.
Forecasts
Saleh (2/1), Choral Clan (4/1), Spiritual Star (8/1), Papou Tony (9/1), Almanack (12/1), St Patrick's Day (14/1), Lucymai (14/1), Check 'em Tuesday (20/1), Gracious George (20/1), With Approval (25/1), Party Royal (33/1), Rightway (40/1)
SALEH appears to be in the form of his life and is less exposed than most of these. The son of Iffraaj may not have finished progressing yet and looks the one to beat under top AW jockey Adam Kirby. The drop in trip for Choral Clan looks like a smart move and his consistency may well see him grab a place while Almanack returned to form last time out and is well-handicapped if he can put it all together.
1. Saleh
2. Choral Clan
3. Almanack
