Got off the mark in what looked like a fairly weak event at Wolverhampton last time out. Won well enough but the handicapper doesn't appear to have taken any chances with him.
One win from nine starts. Raced wide last time out appearing to have an issue cornering the turn for home but stayed on for third and today's switch back to a straight track ought to be a positive (sole win came on straight track at Yarmouth).
Course winner who appeared to over-race out in front last time and drop in trip should aid his cause in that respect but needs to settle better and others have more pressing claims.
Won a Ripon seller in May but finished last of 17 at Doncaster when last seen, probably doing too much too soon. Makes AW debut today and could be a player if the new surface brings out improvement.
Improved for the switch to handicaps last time out and talented claimer booked. If he comes on for that run he may improve past his rivals.
Forecasts
Erissimus Maximus (6/4), Cajmere (5/2), White Royale (10/3), Royal Celebration (7/1), Oh So Dandy (14/1), Zig Zag Girl (40/1)
ROYAL CELEBRATION could be well-handicapped judged on his run last time out. He appeared to commit for a home a little to early but still stuck on well for third and the winner has come out and won again since. Erissimus Maximus returns to a flat track today and may have got closer to the winner last time out if he hadn't raced as wide. White Royale is a previous course winner and shouldn't be underestimated if the drop back in trip works the oracle.
1. Royal Celebration
2. Erissimus Maximus
3. White Royale
