Got off the mark in a C&D apprentice race last time out but clearly has his quirks, hanging badly under pressure before unseating the rider after the line. There could well be more to come and he's always been involved at the business end of his Flat races (never finished worse than fourth).
Hasn't shown the kind of form he was in last year but mark is falling as a result. Never managed to place on AW and may struggle until returned to turf.
C&D winner who has bounced back to form of late. Dangerously well handicapped and the booking of the in-form John Egan is a plus.
Off the mark at the third attempt over C&D last time out and that looked a reasonable maiden for the grade. Feasibly handicapped on that basis and not without a chance but the draw is a negative.
Handicap mark looks high enough on what he's achieved in recent times and usual comes on for the run after a break. Hard to fancy.
Won claimer at this course last time out but was entitled to win that weak affair. Often misses the break and never figured on only other attempt at this trip.
Unlucky not to get his head in front on any of three AW starts to date. Possible he has a questionable attitude in the finish after his most recent run but ought to be thereabouts again.
Remarkably beat Ribchester as a two-year-old but those days would appear to be long behind him. Hasn't fired for this yard so far and is often slow out of the stalls. Easy to look elsewhere.
Inconsistent type who's last win came over C&D in November 2015. Respectable fourth last time but not one to have great confidence in.
Seems to have thrived for his mid-season break and won with any amount in hand on first two starts this winter. Positioned too close to the pace last time out but every chance if things drop right for him and most likely has plenty in hand.
Shaped as if amiss in all his starts in the last two years and impossible to place faith in.
Makes AW debut but not an obvious type to take to it on pedigree and yard are in poor form.
Made a respectable start to his career but only beat one home on handicap debut last time and hard to fancy on the back of that performance.
Forecasts
Cadeau Magnifique (9/4), General Hazard (9/4), New Agenda (11/2), The Third Man (7/1), Polar Forest (14/1), Maifalki (16/1), Beautiful Stranger (16/1), Marcret (16/1), Kafeel (25/1), Zephyros (33/1), Haabis (50/1), Melabi (66/1), Steady Major (100/1)
GENERAL HAZARD may still be on an upward curve despite his second placed finish at Lingfield last time. He would appear to be an out-and-out hold up performer and was positioned too close to the pace last time. If things drop right for him he's the one to beat. New Agenda was probably better value for his most recent win than the six-pound penalty he carries and if connections can iron out his quirks he could be tough to beat. Polar Forest looks well-handicapped and he is capable of gaining compensation for his recent second over C&D.
1. General Hazard
2. New Agenda
3. Polar Forest
