Leading trainer Richard Fahey guides us through his Saturday team including Clubbable in the valuable handicap at Chelmsford.
Gabrial The Wire - 3.15 Chester
Clubbable - 3.25 Chelmsford
I've ended up with just the one runner at Doncaster on Saturday but hopefully Powerallied heads there with a chance. He's been pretty consistent all season to be fair and sneaks in here under bottom weight.
He's probably as high as he wants to be in the ratings but the five and a half furlong trip and the ground should both be ideal for him.
I've a typically big team heading over to Chester and we start with Absolute Dream and Zip in the MBNA/EBF Stallions Novice Stakes.
I'd be surprised if the latter won a race of this type and could be more on for nurseries while Absolute Dream isn't drawn so well and is beginning to look a little exposed. I would say he's not without a chance though on the back of a creditable effort in the valuable nursery at York last time.
There's not a lot I can tell readers about Suegioo now but he's a real star and is in good form. He can get himself a little bit detached these days so Tony may have his work cut out but hopefully he can be staying on in the Read Josephine Gordon Blog At unibet.co.uk/blog Handicap.
It's a similar story with Gabrial in the Listed 32Red Stand Cup Stakes as he's an old star in the yard who we all know well by now. It was great to see him get his head back in front at Epsom and he's been really well since. He's run in this race before and finished third and I'm still not convinced he stays this far but the owner has a different view! I'm more than happy to let him take his chance.
Gabrial The Wire is a horse we like in the 32Red Casino Nursery Handicap.
He ran okay at York behind Ginger Nut and hopefully he can return to Chester with another big effort having raced solely here through the summer.
Private Matter is top weight in the Stardust Liverpool Handicap and will enjoy the ground. He's been crying out for a nice bit of ground like this and could go close with a bit of luck from stall one.
We've also got Rene Mathis in the same race after he won a claimer in good style last weekend. That could give him a bit of confidence and he'll handle the quick turnaround well enough.
Oakley Brown is clearly a lucky mascot when it comes to the draw at Chester as he's on Penwortham from stall one again in the Innospec Handicap. I would be a fraction worried if they got a load of rain which is possible, but the horse loves the course and is really well after a 41-day break.
Our two in the Chesterbet Handicap are Dark Devil and Carnageo and the former is in great order. We've gone for cheekpieces here as he's just got a bit sluggish at the start, which isn't ideal when drawn two at Chester, but hopefully they'll perk him up.
The conditions should be ideal for Carnageo and he's not badly treated at all on the pick of his form.
Onto Chelmsford and Requinto Dawn goes in the Bet toteexacta At totesport.com Handicap. He's only a pound higher than when beaten a head at Catterick in July and is well after his break. He's not got masses on hand from the assessor.
Pop Telecom is obviously less exposed in the Bet totequadpot At totesport.com Handicap for three-year-olds only. She's a nice filly we only got this year and goes in her first handicap off a mark of 61. She's an honest filly and tries hard.
I'm amazed we've got our four into the valuable Bet totetrifecta At totesport.com Elsenham Handicap, plenty not declaring for some reason. Clubbable might be the one for us as she's a course and distance winner who is in really good form. We've booked Megan Nicholls claiming 5lb as the filly will try for anyone as she's so genuine.
Constantino has been on the go a while now and may need help from the handicapper, while Stamp Hill got ballotted out at Chester but went well last time and is fresh and fit following a break.
Gallipoli isn't the most straightforward in truth but is down to a good mark and would have a shout if it's a going day.
Primeiro Boy runs in the Simpson & Marwick Supports Muirfield Riding Therapy Nursery at Musselburgh and I didn't think the handicapper had been too kind too him. So it's proved but he ran better than it looked last time out and isn't without a chance here as it doesn't looks a brilliant race of its type.
Spray By The Sea was disappointing at Beverley but is better than that and I don't mind him at all. I'd be happy to see him bounce back in the Anderson's Butchers Support Muirfield Riding Therapy Handicap, while Amazing Michele needs to step up on what she's been showing if she's to win the Luftness New Supports MRT Caledonian Cup Handicap.
We've declared Zap for Leopardstown's Irish Stallion Farms EBF "Sovereign Path" Handicap over seven furlongs and he's a good, hardy horse who deserves to take his chance in a race like this.
He's been a bit in and out but his best form would give him a chance - it's tough over in Ireland though as we all know.
