He gets on well with Brian Hughes (ridden him for five of his last six wins) and he’ll be hard to catch if allowed a soft lead off a competitive mark. He does face an in-form and improving rivals though in LICKLIGHTER who returned to winning ways last time and despite a 7lb rise is expected to follow up. Fort De L’Ocean often looks threatening in his races but his chasing efforts have been typified by tame finishing efforts which leave him vulnerable here.
