The latter never looked like being beaten when taking a novice hurdle by the scruff of the neck to score in decisive fashion on his return to hurdles for the first time in over a year. However, the former is preferred after his mark has been the left the same as it was when he outbattled his nearest rival over C&D recently to take his record here to 8-14.
