Posted two solid efforts for new stable before falling early on at Stratford on Saturday. Turned out quickly again, so connections obviously think he is capable of going close. Must be respected with jockey taking off valuable 5lbs.
Reverted to hurdles for the first time since May 2018, when making all over C&D to win by just over three-length last month. That was a novice hurdle, and he is now pitched into a handicap off a mark which he should be able to work with.
In sparkling form around here of late and he justified favouritism (5/4f) in brave style recently when winning for the eighth time at this track. Unchanged mark gives him every chance of following up in this slightly stronger contest.
Ready winner of a maiden hurdle at Southwell (1m7f; good) in July, but ran markedly below that level when finishing tailed off at Fontwell (2m1f; good to firm) last month. Major revival required now but this is his handicap debut.
Returns from five-month break, and suffered a heavy defeat when last seen at Ffos Las (2m4f; good). However, dropped back in trip, he is now 11lb below his last winning mark and the break may have done him good. Not dismissed.
Patchy profile in four starts since joining this stable, including when well-beaten at Newton Abbot (2m1f; good) the last twice. Dropped again in the weights since then, but showing no signs of taking advantage of that and is readily opposed.
Possesses the profile of a progressive sort who is getting better with each start in handicaps. Not disgraced when upped in class last time, and should continue on upward curve as he returns to this grade.
Lightly raced over hurdles, but hasn't been able to threaten to any real extent in seven starts to date, including when 12th of 13 at Newton Abbot (2m; good) last time out. Blinkers go back on, but he can only be watched for the time being.

Forecasts
Hallings Comet (13/8), Oxwich Bay (7/2), Camlad Kingfisher (4/1), New Millennium (6/1), Excellent Team (7/1), Skeaping (12/1), Highland Bobby (20/1), Cyrius Moriviere (22/1), Outrath (33/1)
A competitive handicap hurdle in which Oxwich Bay shouldn't be ruled out, despite the fact he hasn't shown his best form in recent starts. Evan Williams charge may have benefitted for a break and returns to the track off a reduced mark. The pair to focus on look to be the C&D winners HALLINGS COMET & New Millenium. The latter never looked like being beaten when taking a novice hurdle by the scruff of the neck to score in decisive fashion on his return to hurdles for the first time in over a year. However, the former is preferred after his mark has been the left the same as it was when he outbattled his nearest rival over C&D recently to take his record here to 8-14.
