Verdict

The Scorpion gelding BLACK JEWEL finished fifth of 14 in this contest 12-months ago and can build on some promising performances of late including a career best when second of 16 beaten ½L in a Tipperary handicap chase in July off a 2lb lower mark. The eight-year-old can land the spoils in the closer here fighting off the advances of solid veteran, Naughty Molly, C&D winner Roevin Star and Double Windsor with his second of 16 beaten 4½L behind Cantkidakidder to be noted.
