Rogue (5/2), Buffer Zone (3/1), Lord Vetinari (3/1), Laubali (6/1), Ragstone Road (15/2), The Great Dandini (16/1), Insurgence (25/1), Dance Emperor (25/1), Achianna (33/1), Makambe (40/1)

Verdict

This looks slightly weaker than the opening contest on paper with Lord Vetinari quite possibly the pick of those horses with form in the book. Therefore, preference is for one of the newcomers, and the pair to concentrate upon would appear to be the Roger Charlton trained Buffer Zone, and the Owen Burrows trained 125,000 gns yearling LAUBALI. With the former named bred to be suited by longer trips, preference is for the latter with the Champion Jockey Jim Crowley booked to ride. This Kyllachy colt looks all about speed (out of a 5f winning Dam), and would only be opposed should an absolute deluge materialise.
  1. Laubali
  2. Lord Vetinari
  3. Buffer Zone
