Sold for only £10,000 out of the Gordon Elliott yard (once smart chaser). Looked a shadow of his former self when pulled up in 3 outings for Sarah Humphrey in the spring. Now with another handler and has plenty to prove on a rare start over hurdles (handicap debut).

Useful handicapper from bang-in-form yard. Made most when winning his sole start in this grade at Newbury last season. Also placed in all 3 handicap starts (outside of top-end events at Cheltenham/Aintree), too, and he makes plenty of appeal on return (could get the run of the race).
|
Improved again to notch a third success for current yard in a Go North Series Final handicap at Kelso in March. Now edging back down the weights following heavy defeats in the Scottish and Welsh Champion Hurdles respectively. At least worth a go over this longer trip (stays 2¼m) in calmer waters.

Smooth-travelling mare. Only denied a third 2½m success of the year by Frontier Prince (who subsequently landed stronger Cheltenham handicap) at Perth (2½m) in September. Well beaten in a Silver Trophy that is already working out well latest. Another who needs considering with sights lowered.
|
Well treated on 2024/5 form. Looked to retain plenty of ability (still only a 7-y-o) when runner-up here over fences in March. Likely to be spot on for this following a pleasing enough comeback in a better event at Chepstow (3m). Interesting but wouldn't want this to be a crawl back down in trip.

Close third behind Daylatedollarshort (since won Silver Trophy) at Punchestown end of last season. Opened his account in this sphere with a workmanlike win over an improver in Fontwell maiden (19f) in September. Supported but only 7 lengths third off this mark in handicap over the same C&D since.

Forecasts
Letterston Lily (11/4), Tune In A Box (3/1), Bowmore (7/2), Moab (4/1), Queenie St Clair (8/1), Minella Crooner (12/1)
TUNE IN A BOX has fallen to a handy mark and may well capitalise with a comeback run under his belt. The main danger is Bowmore, who returns with his yard among the winners and could poach an easy lead.
