Very useful hurdler who finished fourth in Grade 1 Sefton Hurdle at Aintree (3m) in April. Made it 2-2 over fences after emerging on the right side of a ding-dong tussle with Vicar Street in a Galway Grade 3 last time. Probably needs a fair bit of improvement to defy a penalty/land a hat-trick.

Progressive hurdler last season. Signed off with a useful 12½-length third (Fruit De Mer fourth) in the Grade 1 War Of Attrition at Punchestown (3m) in April. This trip will likely suit him better and he should make a chaser.

Highly impressive when making it 3-3 over hurdles in Grade 3 at Tipperary in October 2025. Didn't kick on as expected in better company, though again looked an exciting prospect when cruising clear in a Listowel maiden chase last time. The pick of those with experience and probably more to come.

Fairly useful sort who made a winning start over fences at Gowran (2½m) last month. Ran as well as could be expected when 13 lengths second to Chanceawetmorning in a Grade 3 chase at Punchestown subsequently. Seemingly up against it in a deeper event here.

Shaping up very well as a chaser. Decisively off the mark at Galway prior to pushing a more battle-hardened Frankie John all the way in a Grade 3 at Gowran (2½m) last time. Completes a strong hand for connections, though significant that Harry Cobden keeps the faith with Love Me Tender.

Fairly useful mare. Ended last season in fine heart with a 21-length third in a valuable handicap at Punchestown (2½m). Ran well in a listed race on reappearance this time last year, however, she may again have her limitations exposed in graded company.

Forecasts

Love Me Tender (1/1), Frankie John (4/1), I Started A Joke (4/1), Vicar Street (5/1), Fruit De Mer (6/1), Chanceawetmorning (6/1), Sir Allen (18/1), Kilbarry Saint (50/1)

Verdict

LOVE ME TENDER and Vicar Street may well lead home a 1-2 for powerful connections in an interesting renewal. Last season's Albert Bartlett runner-up Fruit De Mer looks potentially dangerous on his chasing debut.
