GA Wilson Plastering Open NH Flat Race (GBB Race)

Off time: 17:21 | Winning time: 4m 33.50s

Junior Minister²⁹⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Jonathan England| T: S England

10/1

Order of St George gelding. Dam (h115), bumper/2½m hurdle winner, half-sister to useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 23f) Irish Buccaneer. Quite an expensive purchase for the yard having changed hands for £70,000 after finishing runner-up only start in Irish points. Needs a close look in the betting.

Pony Express^b¹⁶⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Callum Bewley| T: I A Duncan

14/1

Frontiersman gelding who showed ability but also some temperament starting out in blinkers (retained here) when second of 10 in 2m Kelso bumper in May. The pick of the pair with experience but wouldn't be sure to build on that opening effort.

Form: 2

Crystal Spectre²⁵⁶

Age: 4| Weight: 11-1| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton

4/7

€72,000 3-y-o, Crystal Ocean gelding. Dam (h117), bumper/21f-3m hurdle winner, half-sister to smart hurdler/winning chaser (stayed 2½m) Western Ryder and useful chaser (stayed 21f) Fire Attack. Runner-up only start in Irish points and of obvious interest having joined a top stable.

Form: 2-

Maliko Des Pins

Age: 4| Weight: 11-1| J: B S Hughes| T: Lucinda Hughes

6/1

It's Gino gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful chaser Goaldamour. Dam (h112), 2m hurdle winner, half-sister to useful hurdler (17f winner) Vadero d'Airy. Not badly bred and yard saddled a bumper winner with its only runner in the sphere last season.

Form:

Midnight Jury^h1

Age: 4| Weight: 11-1| J: Jonjo O'Neill Jr.| T: J & A O'Neill

5/1

€110,000 3-y-o, Jukebox Jury gelding. Brother to useful bumper winner/useful hurdler Bambino Fever, and half-brother to fair hurdler/chaser Dixie Mafia. Dam unraced. Appeals on paper and yard has its fair share of success in this sphere. Wears a hood.

Form:

Non-Runners

Grey Day⁵⁵

Weight: 10-8| Age: 4

T: Micky Hammond J: Joshua Thompson

Forecasts

Crystal Spectre (4/7), Midnight Jury (5/1), Maliko Des Pins (6/1), Junior Minister (10/1), Pony Express (14/1), Grey Day (14/1)

CRYSTAL SPECTRE has a good pedigree and makes obvious appeal having joined the bang in-form Skeltons after finding only one too good on his sole start in Irish points. Midnight Jury and Junior Minister are others to note.
