Gained first success away from Ayr since 2-y-o days in 7-runner handicap at Redcar last month. Shaped as though amiss in a deeper race at York a week ago but he's turned out quickly and upped in distance.
Picked up where he left off last season when winning on handicap debut at Doncaster in July with plenty in hand. Has run creditably on all 3 starts since, shaping as though return to this trip would help when fifth of 9 in handicap at Pontefract (1¼m). Big player eased slightly in class.
Completed a quick-fire hat-trick in 4-runner event at Yarmouth in May. Has largely struggled since, looking fairly hard work when a keeping-on fifth at Epsom last month. Back on last winning mark.
Completed a double in similar company at Newmarket in July. Trio of placed efforts confirm he remains in excellent order so no reason why he won't give it another good go.
Hasn't won since going 2-2 as a juvenile and last 3 starts in handicaps don't suggest that he's about to end that sequence. Back in distance.
Beaten only by a bang-in-form opponent fitted with a tongue tie at Chester in June. Failed to repeat that level since (including sent hurdling) but stable has turned a corner since.
Justified heavy support on debut at Chelmsford in March. Hasn't built on that as perhaps expected since but it's still early days and he probably has a bigger effort in him.
Wootton Bassett colt who reached 575,000 gns as a yearling. Restricted to just 5 starts but promise in that time at up to this trip (1¼ lengths third to Parisian Scholar at Thirsk) and having transferred to James Owen, he looks very interesting with cheekpieces fitted (has also been gelded).

Forecasts
Temple (5/2), Parisian Scholar (10/3), Be Patient (9/2), Hengest (13/2), Bay Of Myths (8/1), Pol Roger (8/1), Golden West (12/1), Helmsley (33/1)
There's an air of unfinished business around TEMPLE in handicaps and with James Owen likely to bring out the best in him, he looks a very appealing candidate in first-time headgear. This is a pretty deep contest, though, with Be Patient and Parisian Scholar likely to be bang there.
