Desert Move¹⁰²

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: Paddy Bradley| T: S Dow

250/1

Well-held fifth in 2 outings for Richard & Peter Fahey over the summer. New stable picked him up for 7,000 gns in July (has been gelded). Best watched here.

Form: 55

(8)

Encounter¹⁴

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: Cieren Fallon| T: S Woods| OR: 81| BF

5/2

Fairly useful form, going down only to a couple of promising sorts in 1m course maiden 14 days ago. Bang there on form but the 2f shorter trip asks a different question.

Form: 23643

(5)

Hayate⁷⁵

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: J Mitchell| T: R Varian

5/6

230,000 gns breeze-up purchase who made a promising start to his career when third of 7 in novice at Newmarket (6f, good to firm) in July. The runner-up has boosted the form since and he's the one to beat with improvement likely.

Form: 3

(4)

I Am Royal²⁹

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: Billy Loughnane| T: R Hughes| OR: 78

7/2

Kodiac colt who has shown fair form on all 3 outings, including second over C&D last month. Another prominent showing is likely.

Form: 323

(7)

Lead To Gold¹²

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: S Donohoe| T: Ollie Sangster

300/1

18/1, last of 9 in maiden at Wolverhampton (5f) on debut 12 days ago. Needs to have come on a lot in a short time.

Form: 9

(6)

Stephen's Secret¹⁴

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: D Egan| T: J Butler

250/1

Well held in 2 runs here last month.

Form: 98

(1)

Uomo Valeroso

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: Rossa Ryan| T: C G Cox

7/1

Foaled March 13. 85,000 gns War Front colt. Half-brother to smart Canadian 6.5f/1m winner El Tormenta and useful US 5f/6.5f winner Zero Tolerance. Dam Canadian 6.5f/1m winner. Possibly the Clive Cox first string on jockey bookings but the betting should reveal more.

Form:

Forecasts

Hayate (5/6), Encounter (5/2), I Am Royal (7/2), Uomo Valeroso (7/1), Colaba (28/1), Stephen's Secret (250/1), Desert Move (250/1), Lead To Gold (300/1)

HAYATE is the obvious one on the back of his promising Newmarket debut at the end of July. With doubts about Encounter's effectiveness at this trip, the chief threat may come from I Am Royal unless betting speaks strongly in the favour of one of the Clive Cox newcomers.
