Gained a third win of the season at Catterick (19f) in February but he ended the campaign with below-par efforts at Catterick and Kelso and fared no better on reappearance 2 weeks ago.

Useful at best on Flat (stays 1¾m) before underwhelming start in maiden/novice hurdles. Getting the hang of this game now though, runner-up here in August before proving a length too good for William Yeats back here 3 weeks ago (pair clear). Up 9 lb but further success beckons.
Low-mileage 5-y-o who belatedly delivered on the promise of last winter's course bumper success when winning a course handicap on August's reappearance. Failed to uphold the placings but still ran a cracker when second to Aimeric 3 weeks ago and he's sure to be involved again.
Resumed progress when completing a Sedgefield hat-trick (4-timer including his all-weather win) in April. Winning sequence ended with a whimper following 10 weeks off at Perth and while his latest effort back there was much more like it, the assessor may just have him. Up in trip.
Progressed into a useful sort on the Flat and having shown much more when runner-up at Catterick second time over hurdles, was flying too high in the Victor Ludorum in February. Well held on handicap debut a month later before set a stiff task on the level. This will reveal more upped in trip.
Seemed to run massively above himself when third of 14 in a maiden chase fitted with cheekpieces at Wexford in June. Changed yards after and wasn't in the same form back hurdling at Perth (3m) 2 weeks ago.
Hit the frame in a point/bumper but minor promise only over hurdles last season. Off since April and while he retains scope from this sort of mark, he may just need this.

Forecasts
Aimeric (7/4), William Yeats (15/8), Cosmic Soul (6/1), Whatsgoingonmarvin (8/1), Party In The Park (12/1), Jetovango (14/1), Bathgate (25/1)
AIMERIC and William Yeats have dominated a couple of course handicaps in recent weeks and they should come to the fore again, with the Candlish runner taken to make it 2-1 in their personal battle. Whatsgoingonmarvin should have a bigger performance in him over hurdles.
