Nairns's Oatcakes Handicap (GBBPlus Race)

Finally came good for this yard when causing a big surprise with a 80/1 win at Haydock 4 weeks ago, a strong gallop back on softer ground looking in his favour. Pulled clear with a subsequent winner that day and he remains unexposed over this trip.

On the go since the turn of the year and gained a superb sixth win of 2026 over C&D (soft) in June. Has reached the frame from this career-high mark all 3 starts since and this looks slightly easier.

Maiden in Ireland for Johnny Murtagh but was placed on several occasions. Made a good start for new connections (sold 48,000 gns) when third over C&D last month, catching the eye with how he travelled. Reportedly suffering from post-race ataxia when well held at Chester since.

Right back to his best with testing ground proving ideal when winning at Lingfield off 1 lb lower in June. Not in the same form under quicker conditions since but going is now in his favour.

Forward-going type. Held on gamely to notch her fourth win of the season at Musselburgh in June and has mostly remained in good form, drop back to 1m probably against her at Hamilton 9 days ago. Headgear on.

Gained a first handicap success at Pontefract off this mark in April but has matched that form only once since, albeit when the ground was testing again. Goes beyond 1m for the first time.

Placed twice off similar marks last autumn and built on return 10 weeks later when fourth at Sandown. Ground in his favour and likely to go well.

Enhanced a fine Ripon record when doubling his tally for the year early this month. Hasn't been competitive away from that track this season, though, including last time.

Shown plenty of promise since switched to handicaps, winning here (1m) in August after a 4-month break. Unlucky not to follow up taking on his elders for the first time at Carlisle 6 weeks ago (conceding first run) and he remains of strong interest over a trip he's likely to stay.
